In the movie Erik respects Charles and considers him an equal from the first time they meet, due to Charles being the first adult mutant he meets. But... What if Charles was human? Would Erik still like him?

I'd love to see an AU were mutants are the ruling race, with Erik as one of their leaders, and humans are second class citizens (they can be slaves too, but I've read one too many slave fics). Charles is a human who helps young mutants learn how to control their powers (at the X-mansion or anywhere else), but some mutants acuse him of "crippling" his students' powers and he is judged by a mutant court. He meets Erik there (he can be part of the jury or simply interested in the case)

Oh, I'm sorry it's taken a while to get this started. Fanart is absolutely not necessary, I assure you. (Eternal love, however, will be truly appreciated. <3)

Honestly, though, my only hope is that the fill isn't going to be terribly disappointing. I wish I was a better and faster writer, but sice I'm neither, I can only promise to try my best. Thanks for such an intriguing prompt!

This is intense. I would love to see how you'll play their differences out eventually, how very human but very determined Xavier will handle volatile, powerful mutant Erik. Great beginning!

kind of hoping that, contrary to the prompt, that charles is a mutant...just the dramatic revelation would be delicious
