Charles/Erik, detective & serial killer anonymous July 20 2011, 22:01:14 UTC
I want to see a cat and mouse game between detective!Charles and serial-killer!Erik. I want to see Charles obsessed over Erik, and Erik doing crazy things to get Charles' attention. I want to see Erik being all possessive over his detective and going batshit if people try to interfere (other killers, other cops, anyone)! Powers or no powers is up to anon!

(My mind instantly thought that Charles would be the serial killer and Erik the detective, but that's another prompt entirely)

Do want!

OP here! anonymous July 20 2011, 22:59:18 UTC
I actually don't care who's the serial killer and who's the detective. I just desperately want DETECTIVES AND SERIAL KILLERS~ yesss

So it's totally up to the anon <3

"I know you've thought of it," he says, and Charles tries to breathe, tries to not let the hitch in his voice be heard through the phone line. "Everyone has thought of it, Charles. You've wanted to kill someone. You have killed people, you know how to do it, and you know some people deserve to die."

Charles swallows, and leans far enough forward that his forehead is nearly touching the desk, praying the others don't notice his conversation. "I believe in bringing people to justice."

"Killing is justice," the man - the serial killer, the man he's been hunting for months now, for almost a year, the man who has created some of the most gruesome crime scenes that Charles has ever had to pick over again and again and again - says. "You're not nearly as naive as you pretend to be, Charles. Admit it, some people should never have been born ( ... )

Charles doesn't know what makes him say it. Maybe it's a feeling of gratitude that the man's willing to avoid the...situation Charles has found himself in. Maybe it's the fact that deep down, he's always wanted to tell someone. Maybe it's just the way he thinks that only a serial killer would understand. No matter the reason, he says, "Because it would have broken what was left of my mother's heart."

The line is quiet for long enough that Charles wonders if the man has left the phone off the hook and just walked away. "And if he'd killed your mother?"

"He nearly did," Charles says, and barely keeps from letting out a hysterical laugh. "But she forgave him, every time, even when it was me, and she didn't even notice"Charles," the voice says, sharp and concerned, and god, it's actually comforting. "Charles, it's fine, I swear, it'll be fine ( ... )

Impulse control was never an option!

Okay, that was really bad. :D Sorry. But this story needs to be continued. Oh, goodness, unapologetic serial killer!Erik and tortured detective!Charles! Please, please, for the love of Erik's Bambi eyes! They need to go have amazing creepy adventures together and ride off into the sunset.

Or, uh. Go to jail. Because being a serial killer is baaaad.

Okay, not anon anymore because for some reason I can't see your fill when I'm not logged in, and I really, really, really, need to be able to see your fill.

This is GREAT. I could practically taste Charles' skittishness and how conflicted he is about attachment to a killer. And don't judge, but somehow I could almost imagine this devolving into phone!sex later in their relationship XD. Your whole set up is just so intimate, and somehow the fact that it's over a phone while Charles is at work makes it twice as intense. And ugh, that little tidbit about Charles past was so touching and his reasoning so Charles and I love how you have Emma as Charles' partner!

I would be lying if I said I didn't want to pressure you into writing more, anon, but obviously the only force I can apply over the internet is the force of my undying love and desperation, so I hope you can feel it where ever you are. Anyhow, LOVED THIS. ♥

Write moarrrrr. You know you want to. Screw impulse control. Impulse control is for the dead, un-cool non-zombies.

Uhm. Shit. This is unbeliavably hot.

Especially because Charles is responsive, and Erik prolly would get him all to himself with a few pushes.

...he wouldn't force, I think, though.

I think.

Damnit, I want more of this.

God, this is gorgeous. I can totally imagine some kind of Hannibal Lector/Clarice thing going on here, if Erik ever gets caught, because Charles would totally go visit him lots. BUT SERIOUSLY THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE OF THIS.

ERIK, BE THE BETTER MAN, Charles pleads as Erik holds up the knife.
I ALREADY AM, Erik replies covered in blood.

But really really really, this is beautiful and I would adore you forever were you to write more.

First: THIS TAKES PLACE LIKE NINE OR TEN MONTHS AFTER THE PHONE CALL. BE AWARE.

Second: I should not be posting this for a billion reasons, but the #1 reason (other than Dear Christ I Have Shit To Do What Is This I Don't Even) is that you are missing out on like two years of build-up. And have never even seen Erik kill anyone, or ~Pivotal Scenes~ but WHATEVER, YOU GET THE PORN FIRST. I will probably end up writing the rest really soon anyway, sob."The FBI is here," Emma says, obviously more interested in filing her nails than the fact Charles' killer is going to be taken away and handed over to the feds. Emma spares the time to give him a smirk when he nearly misses grabbing the folder. "You couldn't keep it quiet forever, Charles, and he went over state lines with Marko. This was inevitable and you know it ( ... )

It makes her laugh, which is good. It also makes her shake his hand, which is also good. "Agent Moira MacTaggert. And you know the killer has a nickname, don't you?"

Charles frowns, grabbing more papers. "That one doesn't count."

Moira grins. "CK doesn't count? I thought you'd be flattered."

"Having a serial killer running around being called Charles' Killer isn't flattering. It's a slap in the face every time I hear it, knowing he's still running around free out there," Charles says, and watches Moira's face soften from the teasing amusement into empathy. "I'm usually very good at my job, you know."

"I've heard you and Frost are the best partnership in the state," Moira says, trying to bring Charles' confidence back up.

"And the prettiest," Charles says. It gets a huff of laughter, which is about what he'd expected. "Are you here for this case, then? I'd appreciate the help, to be honest," which is a lie, he actually wants to shove her in the back of a truck and ship her to Canada, "after...well. You heard about Cain Marko, I ( ... )

Her hotel isn't far, and Charles goes the extra mile (or, in this case, extra block and a half) to walk her there, even if she's probably a better fighter than Charles. "I should have you walk me to my apartment instead," he says, and she laughs, and Charles shouldn't be as surprised as he is when she kisses him, soft and hesitant ( ... )

"Don't you dare," Charles snaps, and it earns him another slam into the wall, this one hard enough that he's almost dizzy. It's not going to stop him, though, and like hell he's letting his killer do something so out of character and stupid. He reaches forward and gets a fistful of what feels like a soft leather jacket. "You do that and it's all over, the game ends, the FBI swarm down on us and you get locked up or shot and I refuse to let that happen, so you don't lay a finger on that agent, understand ( ... )
