Charles gets into an accident, i'm thinking hit by a car maybe, and is injured to the extent that he can't be moved until an ambulance arrives. Plus, he's trapped. His legs are pinned, and needs to be cut out by firefighters.
Erik, a stranger who happened to witness the collision, stays with Charles until help comes. Erik tries to keep him calm and conscious by asking lots of random questions, or telling little stories about himself.
What happens once Charles has been whisked away/is recovering, is up to you.

The anger in his had caused Erik to clench his fist, and he lost grip on his coin. The metal coin fell to the ground of the road, hitting the pavement. The coin rolled away from Erik, out into the middle of the street. Erik didn’t think to listen to signs of approaching cars as he walked out into the road, kneeling down to pick his coin up. He didn’t think about the fact that his black turtleneck made him blend into the darkness too much, and his brown leather jacket was not of help either

Author's note: Part two going up! I'll try to finish a third part tonight, otherwise it is going up next morning. The crash was a grisly sight. The car had suffered a head on collision with the tree, resulting in the front of the car folding into the front seats. One of the headlights dimly flickered, casting a pathetic glow onto the bark of the tree. Every window in the car was knocked out

Erik’s eyes scanned the inside of the car, looking for anything that could have survived the crash. Thankfully there was indeed a pouch in the car between the two seats where Erik could see a cell phone

Erik began his tale. He stayed there for quite some time, his hand eventually ending up grasping Charles’ while he weaved his tale. He told a story of a mighty king, who had his priest read to him from the holy book. Upon reaching the words "For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?", the King tossed the Holy Book on the ground and condemned the words of the book, declaring that the offending pages should be torn out. The next day on his hunting trip, The king chased down a mighty Deer. Going off on his own, the king abandoned his royal clothes to follow the deer across the river. When he got to the opposite bank the deer removed its pelt, revealing a young boy. A genii

Erik listened intently to the words the paramedics exchanged. He still had a pulse, and was breathing. For now. The rest of the time was a rush and blur of events. The car door being pried off, Charles dragged out of the wreckage, put on a stretcher and starting to be taken away.
One of the paramedics made their way over to Erik, waving him to the ambulance.
“Are you with him?”
… was he? Erik thought about the coin in his pocket, Shaw lying helpless in his mansion… Charles…
“I am.”
Erik raced off, climbing into the back of the ambulance.
The only thing that kept him there, kept him in that speeding car instead of climbing up the mountain to attack Shaw, was the thought that Charles would probably have done the same for him.
author's note: That's all for tonight, but more to come!! You still get scenes with Charles in the hospital recovering, and how Erik deals with missing his murder chance!

As soon as I saw this prompt I couldn't wait for a fill - I considered writing one myself, but I wouldn't do justice to it... - and this is AWESOME. Thank you, Anon!
