Ok, so I know we've have several de-aged prompts for Charles and Erik, but how about, during the trilogy, the whole team gets de-aged back to how the were pre-cuban missile crisis (however, you decide

No, you can't end there! It's just getting good, Charles about to fetch Erik while simultaneously messing with the minds of all the kids in the house...more please?

Erik tries to not hate hard plastic. It's not the plastic's fault it exists, of course, and he shouldn't blame it for not being metal, but it just seems like such a waste of space. There's something about hard plastic that makes him think of tofu and faux fur, of substitutes that are never as good as the original.
It's the plastic that gets to him about his cube. Oh, the strappy white pajamas that are too small in some places and far too large in others and are just waiting to be a straitjacket are irritating and uncomfortable, and the view into absolutely nothing is frustrating, but he could survive these things. Erik is excellent at surviving discomforts. It's the plastic and the absence of metal that makes him twitch, makes him reach towards Charles in a way he knows has to be annoying. Charles puts up with it, of course, because he knows Erik doesn't like where he is and they care about each other, but he can feel the layers of frustration building up.
Your move, he projects, staring down at the chessboard. It is simultaneously

"Something I probably had good reason to do," Erik says easily, and sighs. "I'm leaving now. We both know where the pieces are; we can pick this back up at home." Charles still can't help projecting warmth every time Erik calls the mansion home, it seems. It's calming. "Do you have any clothing for me?"
Charles nods, reaching into his coat and pulling out soft black fabric. "I could only find one of your turtlenecks in the bedroom. I don't know how long you've been locked up, but most of your things are out of the room, so I'm betting quite a while."
Erik tries to imagine being trapped in this tiny plastic cube for longer than the few hours it's taken Charles to come get (save) him, and swallows. "We'll have to fix that," he says, removing his shirt and quickly putting the turtleneck on. "When we return to our time, remind me to not be put in a plastic cube for long enough you lose my clothes."
"We have to go shopping, don't we," Charles muses, rolling a bishop between his hands.

"What's he talking about?" Logan asks, clearly wary of the high man Charles is tugging along.
"I'm not quite sure," Charles says. "I do know it's you, though. Something metallic about you."
Scott watches Logan's face as he remembers who exactly Charles is towing along, and what exactly his 'friend' can and has done to Logan. Scott decides to head that off at the pass, saying, "Yes, there are others here, and all of them have been imprisoned for the safety of the rest of the world. It's a standard prison, even if all the cells have to be specialized for who they're holding."
Charles stops mid-step, frowning at the air before he drops Erik's wrist in favor of putting two hands to his temple. "Alex is here," he says.
It doesn't take Magneto very long to recover from Charles' influence. He looks obviously displeased, but Charles' statement seems to brush that aside fairly quickly. "Where

Alex! Imprisoned again! :( (Love that he was trying to break out though :D)
I am seriously loving this fic so far. Erik and Charles' relationship is so present but still subtle, like the mention of Erik's clothes, and it's just GREAT. And poor Scott, all confused.

Yay! This story is wonderful. I had come back to reread and am delighted to find an update. Erik thinking that only incarceration could have kept him from living at the mansion. And young Charles casually freezing and releasing the people he passes. And Logan's skeleton is singing to Erik! I'm grinning with delight. Keep writing.

"Whatever happened, Professor, I didn't do it," Alex says, and means it. "I don't think they even gave me a phone call. There's something weird going on, and...who are these people?"
"This is Wolverine and Cyclops," the professor says, walking them all out the front doors. Alex can't help but be a little creeped out by the frozen people they keep walking past, but the less fighting the better, as far as Alex cares. "We're in the future, and they're the current X-Men."
"What's an X-Man?" Alex asks.
"We are," Charles says. "I'm assuming it's because we're based at what's being called Xavier Academy."
"Which is just the mansion," Erik adds.
Just the mansion. Christ, how things have changed in the past months. "And you're holding onto Cyclops why

A nice woman named Jean Grey had done her best to explain some things when he woke up in an unfamiliar bed with a radio alarm waking him up to a song he’d never heard about giving people shelter that was just a shout away, and he seemed to have taken that as directions since he, you know, shouted.
His cabinet (he has a cabinet oh dear god) had standing orders to call the mansion if something weird happened to him, it seemed, so he’d found himself with a pseudo-walkie-talkie pressed against his ear with a woman telling him to come to the mansion, that it’d happened to the Professor and the rest of the first bunch of collected mutants. She’d sounded nice and reassuring like the professor did when he was explaining how the toaster couldn’t be used for parts or how developing claw-sharp fingernails was just another thing to train with because test tubes could be replaced but two hundred year old glass vases were a bit more expensive

"That's nice," Hank says, and shakes her hand, awkwardly aware of the near-claws he's still learning to watch for. "It's nice to meet you." He clears his throat. "Is there still a lab around? I was thinking there might be some kind of radiation on us or something, some kind of residue signature to tell us at least a little about what happened

Fabulous. I love Hank waking up and being all weirded out that his life is so very inspirational and successful that it couldn't possibly be his. Oh Hank, you are wonderful! And Logan remains awesome. "I avoid this messy timetravel shit." Yeah, good plan.

Just found this today and it has all the beauty of nostalgia, the feel of a great reunion fic.
I love how acting like mom and dad is so automatic for Charles and Erik, especially in that scene with Alex. (Aww, poor Scott, though. Sibling rivalry, sigh.)
Raven being the spoiled sister that she is. Get me out of Texas! Lol.
Hank and his surprise over everything he has achieved. And that scene with Sean! I just wanna squish him.
My fave, though, is Scott's observation of how Charles is different from Prof. X in using his powers. Ah, hubris. Charles has it and has no problem with it. Ah, youth.

"Does anyone know what's going on? No? Good, then we're on the same page." Ha-ha-ha.
The XMen are all used to grown-up, staid Professor X and are now confronted with young Charles Xavier. Awesome!
And that waitress is made of win. "Ah, one of those mornings."
Please keep writing this.
