I'm sitting in my dorm room in methtown, Illinois, at 8:17 AM on a cold November morning. I fell asleep around 8:30 last night and woke up at six. I have a final in about 11 hours that I'm disgustingly unprepared for.

I'm listening to Jimmy Buffett.

I guess that's just what happens when you move to an area that's so different. I can't really say I know what you're going through--"beach to Illinois" is a lot different from "backwoods to small town"--but you know I'm always here to be your constant. You can make it through this, all right? Go home, recharge your batteries, and I bet you'll even be missing college a little by the end of break. It'll be okay.

lkfsd NO SHIT I'LL BE MISSING COLLEGE I'LL BE MISSING COLLEGE THE WHOLE TIME. KYRIESCARCES AND DEVINS AND FUCKING ASHLEY HAMILTON AND ALL OF THE FOOD AND NO SLEEP. I'm homesick when I'm at school and schoolsick when I'm at home! And someone in the gizmo just said DO YOU EVEN GO TO THIS SCHOOL and someone else just said NO BUT I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS.

It's more about just missing the culture I came from, because this is nothing like southern california and nothing really is and i want the water back. the end.

i don't actually know what i'm saying.

I ACTUALLY. DON'T WANT TO GO HOME RIGHT NOW. AT ALL. HOMESICKNESS MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. But California seems like a place that'd be harder to leave. With its fucking weather and its fucking beaches and its fucking STUFF THAT HAPPENS.

Travel is hard, dude.

See. You come from a horrible place with awful people and your family is gross.

...I think the Runaways summed up my feelings about my home state quite well:

You are coming to visit if it kills me.
