I have one request though. Would it be too much to ask for judges actually announce the reasons why the sentence won always when they post the winner? :3 I'd be interested in hearing them though?
I think it'd be much easier (considering the way the judging system works) for people to request feedback on the winning sentences if they want to at the time it's announced. *nod nod*
as one of the mods and as someone who's judged twice, including this time, i'd say it's a combination of how well the sentence works as a sentence, how expressive it is, and how well it fits the theme. i will not vote for a sentencee that is awkward or unrgrammatical even if it would be wonderful if it were fixed. Ditto for the wall of fame at the gravi thread.
the short answer is that this was the only sentence in all three judges' top three list though we didn't all place it first. when I judged before, we did a top five or six and the winning sentence was the only one on all three lists.
