Maybe it was the gears of fate set in motion against his better judgment but he was falling hard for the enemy.

All he could do was admire how the cool air became warm whenever those arms embraced him.

When they talked about memories of their youth all the Japanese man could remember was working with the Order, and the elder didn’t like it.

Maybe this would be the first and last time they saw each other, here on this battle field, but maybe this brief admiration would grow.

They were wrong. He wasn’t brainwashed but only he knew that.

The gentle kisses, the touches, he didn’t want to leave them.

Tyki was the first one for many things in his life and Kanda was sure it was a sin.

In that one moment it seemed like a thousand years of silence went by in merely moments.

There was no king here to look up too, just each other.

It would be a while until Kanda would learn how addicted he was to the Noah; He wouldn’t care.

The line between enemy and lover was quickly becoming a blur with the sensual caresses, the kisses, and the slow thrusting.

Kanda asked Tyki to wait for him at their secret lovers rendezvous every day and never once had he gotten a complaint.

His vision blurred at the scene before him, but he wouldn’t show it, he would force himself to remain strong as he lifted the sword.

The attention he received despite his attempt confused the teen, he wanted to pull back into himself but right now he found he couldn’t.

His soul felt tainted for the first time and it wasn’t because he disobeyed an order.
#20 - Picture
Tyki convinced him to get a picture together and Kanda looked gloomy al the way through.
#21 - Fool
It was Tyki who had killed his friend, and that knowledge changed the normal course of their lives.

Perhaps he was a little mad but Kanda enjoyed the sweet torture the man handed out.
#23 - Child
Since a child he had been emotionless to most things, but he could feel something inside him changing all of that somehow.

When Kanda asked what they should worry about Tyki replied with a simple answer, “The here and now.”

They both hid their shadows, Tyki’s just happened to be a little darker and sadistic.
#26 - Goodbye
For now it was good-bye but in their hearts they both knew they’d see each other again, somehow, some day.

They could hide, run, leave to a place where there was no Order and no Church but most importantly no war.

They ate Chinese that night, Kanda getting a most happy fortune, and at that moment he was glad Tyki was there.

He felt safe here, within the elder mans hold on their bed, and he would be for a long time.
#30 - Ghost
It was like he saw a ghost when he saw that small bit of White peek through again; he was glad.
#31 - Book
It took the two of them to finish that book but they finally did it.

Kanda looked into those golden eyes, leaning up to get a closer look; they always entranced him.

“Will you ever let me go”, he once asked Kanda when the exorcist held on a little too tight, “Never.”

That was the first time he’d heard his exorcist sing at all and he decided it fit perfectly.
#35 - Sudden
It was happening all too suddenly, this war, Tyki, everything.

For a third time he put their relationship development on hold.

Time was precious in their world; the slightest second could get them caught.

For the third time Kanda went for a wash and Tyki would have said he was a germaphobic if he hadn’t known better.

It was time and he was torn between his heart and duty for truly the first time.

Would they both just fade into history if they were to die, without a soul remembering they had ever existed?

Power was all that mattered in this war; in reality there was no room for him right now.

This was all such a pointless bother to him; neither of them had died nor injured the other.

Would their God help them if he knew about everything he was doing behind the Order’s back, he wondered.

After that battle it was like a wall formed between them and white wasn’t here to make it all better like he normally did.

Naked, sweating, pants escaping lips that weren’t those of the man he’d been with a second ago.

Whit could drive him up a wall with his mannerisms but he’d missed this side of the man he cared so much for.

White would never harm him, not in a million years; perhaps that’s where he adored his dork.

To the white side Kanda was something precious he’d never though a guy like him would be able to obtain.

When his stomach rumbled he grabbed the Japanese man’s hand and led him off inside; it was definitely time to eat.

When White said he loved him, each time, it made him believe everything would be all right for the first time in his life.
