Mar 09, 2006 17:50

Fandom: 24
Pairing: Tony Almeida/Michelle Dessler
Theme set: Gamma
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Through Day 5.

#17 - Promise
Tony promised himself he would concentrate only on work when he was working - and not on women, lest they be a spy (damn, Nina really messed him up), but he knew that would only last for so long, especially after Michelle Dessler started working there.

#36 - Laugh
Sometimes, when they were just shooting the breeze, she would laugh and press her hands against his arms and Tony would smile at the feel of her skin against his.

#12 - Temptation
Michelle was professional, she always wore a suit and high heels and minimal make-up (the standard look for women at CTU), but she hiked up her skirt every time she sat next to Tony (it was all he could do to keep his hands off of her - she totally did it on purpose).

#20 - Talent
She couldn't lie like Nina could, so everyone found out about their relationship within hours of it starting; Tony didn't care, he could fall in love with her.

#07 - Wings
If she asked him to, Tony would have tried to fly on wings of paper; he wouldn't stop until he cleared the tallest building in Los Angeles if that's what she wanted

#15 - Silk
Tony laid back on the bed and stared at the ceiling as she got dressed and left; something wasn't right

#06 - Hurricane
"But everything looks perfect from far away," she told him once, kissing him softly before leaving him broken and alone.

#08 - Cold
"I want to fall in love tonight," he whispered in her ear; Michelle shivered despite the warm California breeze and couldn't stop smiling.

#44 - Hope
Michelle wrapped herself up with him and Tony breathed her in and neither of them thought about saving the world.

#14 - Music
When life wasn't hectic and full of lies and terrorism, they would lay together listening only to the sound of their breathing.

#16 - Cover
Somewhere between dating and marriage, Tony became a field agent and Michelle stopped sleeping at night (he'd be called in at all hours to run field ops or because they were short handed); she wondered what she got herself into.

#31 - Sacred
He never told her what he was thinking (You are mine now) because he knew Michelle would think it was possessive when it was really just true, true love.

#01 - Ring
He wasn't traditional or romantic when he proposed, he didn't get down on one knee or make a speech but he did have a ring; it was an average day at work and on the way out he gave her the ring and said he loved her.

#34 - Formal
They were married in a church, Michelle in white, Tony in a tuxedo, it was all very unnatural and uncomfortable and Michelle wishes she could do it again, outside and in a pant-suit.

#19 - Candle
Michelle hated candles (she thought they were tacky and more a fire hazard than anything) and Tony was glad, he wasn't romantic enough for candles.

#46 - Gravity
Gravity, emotion and exhaustion got the best of her and she fell back into her husband's arms, thankful he was always there to catch her.

#05 - Run
Some of the time, after close calls for either of them, Michelle just wanted to grab Tony's hand and run away and never look back, but she saved the world on a daily basis and couldn't just pack up and go.

#48 - Unknown
On slow days, when they got breaks, they would lock themselves in the bathroom or a storage room or any empty room.

#21 - Silence
He yelled at her more than he should of - at work, he was always wound up at work - and Michelle knew she shouldn't take his comments to heart, but did anyway.

#24 - Strength
Michelle watched in amazement as Tony, bleeding from the neck, insisted on returning to work - he had a country to save.

#13 - View
"You aren't a field agent - you are supposed to stay in the office and run the place when Jack goes MIA and follow the rules and take care of me; you aren't supposed to be getting shot in the neck trying to find a kid, okay?"

#39 - Overwhelmed
He didn't think he could run CTU (he wasn't supposed to run CTU) and barked orders at his wife and yelled at his friends and was just so relieved when Michelle turned out to not be dead that nothing else mattered.

#11 - Midnight
It was midnight and they had been working for the last six hours and could barely keep their eyes open let alone figure out how to save the world (and their marriage).

#04 - Box
Trapped in a hotel with an airborne deadly virus, Michelle called her husband saying goodbye - she thought she was dying.

#33 - World
Tony almost lost her once that day and at 8:54 in the morning, he decided Michelle's life was worth more than the world.

#41 - Wait
Their jobs consisted of mostly waiting - waiting for an order, a lead, a communication - and sometimes they couldn't take it and would collapse in each others arms to wait more comfortably.

#47 - Highway
She was twenty minutes away, but in a world that could end within the hour, twenty minutes was too long, too far and Tony didn't know if he could get there before it all ended.

#42 - Talk
Near the end, they didn't talk or touch or smile and Michelle was relieved when the divorce papers came through.

#45 - Eclipse
He never promised her anything besides his love, but Tony felt like she wanted so much more (he couldn't give it to her).

#28 - Forgotten
It was like he no longer mattered (why should he? he only risked everything to save her life); Michelle visited and squeezed his hand from across the table, "I'm sorry, I can't," before leaving for good.

#38 - Forever
Tony wonders when Michelle decided they couldn't work - before or after the arrest? the trial? jail? - but doesn't ask because when he promised her forever, he meant it.

#49 - Lock
She didn't want him locked away like a criminal, she couldn't bare to see him locked away like some kind of criminal.

#43 - Search
She didn't ever want to see him again after the divorce; she said she stopped loving him instead of saying her heart broke when she looked at him.

#03 - Memory
Tony never regretted everything he did for and never stopped loving her and it was the only thing that got him through those two years without her.

#10 - Drink
She didn't like wine or beer or any alcohol really, but it was the only way she could stop thinking about him (he was taking over her mind, Michelle thought she made a mistake).

#37 - Lies
She was blond and ditzy and not Michelle (God, no one was Michelle), but she was there and she trusted him.

#29 - Dance
She worked around him, sending orders through Chloe or Edgar or anyone, only because the sight of him broke her heart and the world was ending, she didn't need heart break.

#02 - Hero
Michelle could only remember how Tony risked his career (and his life) for her - to save her - she couldn't return the favor; she was no no one's hero.

#18 - Dream
Honestly, he never expected to see her again and wasn't surprised when she cold-shouldered him; Tony was happy for the first time in years that day.

#26 - Ice
It didn't snow in Los Angeles like Chicago - it didn't snow in Los Angeles at all - but Tony could feel the cold of a thousand winters in Illinois by looking into his ex-wife's eyes.

#35 - Fever
Tony asked God to take the feelings he had for her inside - his chest hurt when he breathed - but He never did.

#27 - Fall
She hated everything in her life before him; he hated everything in his life after her.

#25 - Mask
Michelle hid behind her affair with Bill Buchanan (they didn't even have an affair, but it was easier to tell Tony that they did then admit she hadn't been with anyone since him) because love scared her, especially when it concerned Tony.

#23 - Fire
Tony risked everything for her and she watched him die in a fiery explosion because she couldn't do the same for him.

#40 - Whisper
It was the end of the world - Jack couldn't save the day, not this time - and Michelle whispered in Tony's ear that she would have given it up with him; Tony prayed for one more chance with her.

#32 - Farewells
As she handed Jack his untraceable cell phone, Michelle could only imagine how Audrey was feeling; if it had been Tony, she wouldn't know what to do.

#22 - Journey
They both left CTU when Jack died, so many people had been lost in that building alone that they knew if they stayed, they wouldn't make it.

#09 - Red
Tony ran his fingers over her bare shoulders and red tank top and smiled - they were together, for real this time, and he was finally happy.

#30 - Body
He had only a few seconds before the explosion to feel the weight of Michelle's body in his arms and realize she was dead - she was really dead this time.

#50 - Breathe
When he first woke, his only thoughts were about the well-being of his wife before remembering she was dead; then he was determined to get out of that hospital and destroy whoever was responsible; then he breathed.

*a few of these, when I ran out of ideas, are manipulated song lyrics. if you would like to know which ones, ask me. :)
