The iPod

Surely, the iPod should have been made in the late 90s, when Napster mania was at its height. And not by Apple of all people. Sony, Philips etc should have been the guys to do it. More than a few people would have taken this idea up in these companies. But it appears as if the influence of the music labels (these guys are hand-in-glove with them) and the fuss over Napster throttled it. And look what happened to them - another example of "It you dont do it someone else will".

But why Apple today?! Today, if Sony et al were tied down by thier music industry affiliations - Nokia should have been the guys to give u some memory and an mp3 codec with their cell phones!! I mean, its been ages since you started putting old computer games in cells right? About time you did something new...

And even if u didn't get the idea till Apple did, why, why why is BenQ, Motorola, LG et al STILL not putting an iPod into cell phones and kicking Apple's ass all over the market??? With the LCD screen already in the phone, the incremental price of an mp3 player will be so small that Apple is murdered.

If I were Apple I would start making cell phones. :-p But if the cell guys move quickly Apple is out. Lets see who wakes up first.
