Nathan's apt, Sunday evening

Angela was staying with Nathan during her time in Fandom. Which meant that Nathan had had a near-constant feeling of an impending headache the whole weekend long. It also meant that if he wanted to talk to his little brother in private they had to do so with low voices in the kitchen while Angela was in the living room.

Sam combed his fingers through his hair one more time as he stood outside Nathan's door and tried to relax. He wasn't looking forward to this, but of course he didn't want that to be noticeable. He just needed to remind himself that Nathan would be there, and that if Angela was really angry, it would probably only come out in words. At least, that was what he hoped.

With one more deep breath, he went ahead and knocked on the door.

"I got it," Peter said at once, which earned him another eyeroll from Nathan. Peter all but bolted to the door so he could open it before anyone else. Spotting Sam, Peter slipped into the hall and closed the door behind him. "Hey."

"Hey," Sam said, smiling softly. "You look nice. Is everyone else here?"

"Now that you're here, yeah," Peter said. "But if you wanna bail I totally get it."
