I can't tell you how psyched I am about Cowboys and Aliens!!!
It's like, you take one awesome thing I love (cowboys) and add another awesome thing (aliens), and they're all a-riding a-round on their horses and spaceships and there's Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, and I'm so excited!! It's so crazy and it's gonna be so much fun!

I saw a 30 second ( Read more... )

links, film, slash

I saw the trailer before Christmas and kept telling my husband - how has no one done this before?

I didn't have my slash-goggles on when I watched the trailer - I'll have to remember them next time. :)

Agreed - I think no one dared to do this film before now, not seriously. I'm not sure if it's some sort of remake or based on a comic...? Or new?

My MSG's are pratically attached to my head these days, so even though Cowboys and Aliens probably isn't the *first* movie you need to slash, it just happens. And heck, it heightens my enjoyment! ;D

That sounds so slash-tastic, it's almost unfair! And hey, Harrison Ford will forever be Indiana Jones, so, y'know, he's not old in the scenes in my head.

This movie looks like such a blast! I'd heard of it and shrugged it off (because come ON, that TITLE!). Then I saw the trailer and wow. Can't wait!

And have you seen this? http://fuckyeahsodomites.tumblr.com/post/2914193590/edit-weve-actually-posted-a-link-to-this-before

I think it is more along the lines of what we were looking for in Good Vibrations that night. There's going to be a full movie released sometime this year (or so they say).

The title just doubles the awesomeness! It's so ridiculous but it tells you everything you need to know, lol.

And hell no I hadn't seen that before! Totally more sexy than five hours of 'produced' porn. That it would be labelled 'art movie' is dumb. Glad to see someone is making something different, or normal, depending on perspective.

When the trailer for this came on while I was at the cinema, everyone was transfixed. Until the name of the movie came on at the end of the trailer and everyone burst into laughter. I don't know, but I'm guessing they found the title as ludicrous as I did.

That doesn't mean it won't be an interesting movie, but the title is chuckle inducing.

I think of the title as a joke... The story too, more or less - the boy's adventure of cowboys and indians taken round the bend, and re-affirming the giddy little kid inside every grown up. Of course, I read my grandfather's ancient adventure books for boys as a child, instead of Anne of Green Gables etc...
But anyway, it's like something that a greedy producer could have made up back in the fifties to wring some extra sales, right? And then it would have been B quality, but not they've got some A-list actors and it's all in good fun?

Honey, you put Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde in anything, I'll watch it.

Can't wait to see Daniel in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Is that pissing you guys off in Sweden, by the way, the fact that Hollywood keeps on re-making your movies?

Heh, I was actually disappointed that Olivia Wilde was in Cowboys - she really isn't my type. But in all fairness she's pretty good.
Daniel Craig, oh yeah. I remember posting that Bond pic where he's in baby blue hip hugger speedos. *lalala*

I'm actually really curious about the remake of Dragon Tat, partly for Daniel Craig (though it's almost a little nasty that he looks so much older than the female lead, right?), and partly to see what you guys make of it! I read somewhere that the actors are supposed to speak with a Swedish accent - that will be priceless! *shakes head* Let's at least hope that just this once, Hollywood doesn't substitute a German accent (which is entirely, completely different ( ... )

I'm looking forward to it too. That and this one: "A Dangerous Method" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1571222/ *gets lost in thought*

Talking of old guys: I'm hearing your "Yesch"'s in Sean Connery's voice.

Hel-lllooo...! Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Vincent Cassel, Keira 'Queen of the underbite' Knightley? Sold.

Lol, in school my best friend had a thing for Sean Connery, because just imagine him waking you in the morning with a schmile and a "Breakfascht in bed, schugar?" ;D

I actually started with the 'yesch' after the cat in the Mutts comic said it.
