Holiday Spirits? (Open.)

Nov 30, 2008 20:37

Thank to the success of his last alcoholic endeavors, Bedi's now hard at work in his cabin fixing up a batch of Christmas-y rum, spiced wines, and of course, eggnog. Just because the Christians stole a perfectly good holiday from the Celts doesn't mean there can't still be some drinking and merriment, eh ( Read more... )

"Hello," says Lleu, half hopefully. "I don't suppose you know me?"

Bedivere turns and blinks at him. "Sure look like someone I know, but damned if I've got a name to go with. Hell, must mean I really am getting old. Care for a drink?"

Lleu has actually put some thought into this answer.

his typist thinks it is a cool coincidence that Bedi has posted, as Lleu was looking for him anyway."I'm called Lleu. I look like all the Orkney clan, and mostly like Mordred, I think. I'm Arthur's son, Arthur and Guinevere's. I didn't really think you'd know me, no one does ( ... )

Bedivere gives him a stunned stare, the kind somewhere between must-be-dreaming and it's-all-come-back. Before he can speak, he takes a long drink of the nearest bottle he has.

"The wine...the wine's however you want it, your highness," he mummbles out. "As for...I haven't handled a sword since Camlann and...Arthur and the Queen's son."

Zara has been trying to make the house look like someone actually lives in it, although she doesn't know a damned thing about house-cleaning. The result is kind of funny, especially if you've never seen Zara with a handkerchief tied over her thistle-puff hair and her usual black dress exchanged for a tunic and trousers.

She is, however, in an amazingly good mood, which can only be ascribed to Bedi being there and being in fairly good spirits. She smacks his head as she goes by him and stretches up to wipe spiderwebs out of the cabinet.

He responds flicking at her backside with a towel. "Saints, I hope those weren't my trousers. Nobody knows where they might have been."

She slaps him, considerably softer than she would slap anyone else who had just done that. "Got my own damn trousers. Shows how much you pay attention."

He staggers in a mock show of pain at her slap. "Hey! I have never claimed to be good at paying attention."

If Bedi looks up, he might find a Merlin, smoking his pipe and leaning against the doorframe.

"Well settled in, I see."

"One can hope. Have a seat if you like."

"My thanks." He does take it. "It has been a while. I trust you've been well?"

"Good days and bad," replies Bedivere. "Sometimes I dream about things I'd rather forget, and sometimes I can't remember things I should. But all in all, I'm pretty darn well. What about you? Oh, drink?"

T: She really needs to get out more...

She probably is here in Lleu's wake - having adopted him as a.... roommate? sister? We're not sure. She's too young to be his mother, that's certain.

At any rate, there is a composed Queen at the door, smiling calmly.

"Good afternoon."

Bedivere smiles at her, a little nervously albeit, and drops in a sweeping bow. "My queen. Welcome to my humble home. Please, take a seat if you like, and allow me offer you a drink."

She nods, regally if shyly. "My thanks, Sir Bedivere." She sits, and looks around. "It is good to see you again."

"And you, my queen." He pours her a drink, nothing too stong, and sets it on the table for her. "I trust you are comfortable and well attended?"
