Torchwood Review: Adam

*Sigh*...back to the eternal download.  Competing with 52 teenagers for the internet really slows things down.

I will admit that this was not my favorite ep, but there were really good things about it and I like to be mostly  positive (cause otherwise there's really no point is there?).  The overall idea for this episode was a fascinating  one and I ( Read more... )

It's great reading reviews from people that sound exactly how I thought of it... At the end, when Adam was playing with his memories, I was actually shouting "Don't do it!!" at the TV. I'm so glad my flatmate wasn't in *lol*

I wasn't shouting (though I've certainly done that before), but I was definitely muttering in a hostile manner.

'Yeah for more of the waistcoat! Damn I love that thing! Yay! for more waistcoast!love. Love the paper diary. One of the things I've always liked about Ianto is that he just seems so old fashioned (classic), maybe that's what attracted Jack to him in the first place.

'Serial killer Ianto is super creepy. Sent shivers down my spine.

I loved the way they filmed that sequence though, especially the whole freeze framing the rain thing.' Wonderfully filmed :D

I do have one minor problem though, they still have not given Ianto *any kind* of back story. We now know more about Jack than we do about Ianto. Maybe the writers haven't decided what they want his back story be, or maybe they're setting it up so that Ianto could turn out to be Jack's brother (NOOOO!).

Well, even though we've never actually seen it we know about him being at Torchwood London and everything with Lisa and the Battle of Canary Wharf. He's very young, so this would be a major chunk of his back story (though I'd still like to see some of it). And I don't know how spoiler phobic you are (if very stop reading now), but I think there's an episode coming up where we get to see how Jack and Ianto met and how he was recruited into Torchwood 3.

I love that Ianto is still so much of a mystery and would find it wonderfully ironic if the everyday Welshman turns out to be more mysterious than the time traveling immortal.

Maybe the writers haven't decided what they want his back story be, or maybe they're setting it up so that Ianto could turn out to be Jack's brother (NOOOO!).This is the second time I've see someone say this today! Where is this idea even coming from? I know ( ... )

'I love that Ianto is still so much of a mystery and would find it wonderfully ironic if the everyday Welshman turns out to be more mysterious than the time traveling immortal.' Oh, that's a great way to look at it. Darn you, Ianto Jones; Man of Mystery.

'And I don't know how spoiler phobic you are (if very stop reading now), but I think there's an episode coming up where we get to see how Jack and Ianto met and how he was recruited into Torchwood 3.' I heard about that episode, I can't wait.

'This is the second time I've see someone say this today! Where is this idea even coming from? I know Torchwood is supposed to be edgy, but I don't think even they would have blood relatives shacking up.' I have no idea. I said it as a joke the first time on someone else's webpage and it just sort of took on a life of it's own. I don't think they'll do it either, considering how popular Jack/Ianto are.
