Sweet Valley High Magna Edition: Return of the Evil Twin

Oh, Crazy Margo. I just can’t quit you.

If you’re fuzzy on Margo’s backstory, check out the recaps of A Night to Remember and books 95-100. It’s really too much to summarize here.

Why is there a random toilet in a furnace room?

Because the Sweet Valley girls are far too refined to poop outside of a traditional receptacle. So obviously they need a toilet.

Great recap; I remember loving this book even more than the first. It was so effing crazy. Seeing smells? PRICELESS.

I'm at work but when I saw this go up I dropped everything. Crazy Margo calls to me with a siren song!

t’s covered in Margo’s crusty, gross blood, but Liz washes it off and goes right back to wearing it everywhere? That’s disturbing. I hope Ned and Alice just bought her a new one.
Gross. But she has to keep it because of it's truth powers. I hope they have disinfectant in the Wakefield home.

He wouldn’t agree, though, so they compromised and got rid of just one girl. Who does that?
Ahahaha. That is HYSTERICAL. It's like an even more fucked up version of the Parent Trap where they split the kids in the divorce. I wonder how they decided which one got dumped on someone else's doorstep? The one that pooped more? What?

Can I get a hell yeah?
OH HELL YEAH! Team Margo! Team Nora! Team Kill the Wakefields! Woo!

when she sees that Jess is dead, she screams and faints.
Liz, you are so fucking useless. Fight her like Jess did in "Evil Twin"! Damnit!

Nora, standing in the back, rolls her eyes and dismisses the poem as “sentimental ( ... )

You don't keep a toilet by your furnace so you can sweat and pee at the same time?

HA! I'll be writing a letter to my landlord requesting these renovations immediately.

They decided which girl to give up because, apparently, Margo was a psycho even as a child. She used to beat up kids and torture cats and stuff.

Man, this started out all dark hijinks funnier than original Crazy Margo, and then it went just dark. But seriously...even if Margo wasn't dead from the original throat slash, does she explain how she didn't BLEED TO DEATH FROM THE THROAT WOUND after she offed the paramedics?

Nope. She just says that she can hold her breath for up to three minutes underwater, so she drove the ambulance over the side and swam away. No idea how she fixed her neck: maybe she just put a band aid on it.

I can't remember - does she have scars that are mentioned?

Nope! Still looks exactly like the Wakefields!

I always read "Magna Edition" as "Manga Edition." They're doing it with BSC, why not SVH?

This was my favorite SV book ever! Thanks so much for recapping it! I'm not sure who I like better, Crazy Margo or Crazy Nora.

I think I'm partial to Margo. Nora kind of half-asses it with the crazy. Margo's wholeheartedly committed.

Maybe it's because I like her OCD and the seeing smells thing.

I dunno, Margo sure half-assed Operation Kill Jessica. Whereas Nora just went up to her bed and stabbed her, or what she thought was her.
