but to her horror WINSTON is made queen!!! Jessica wails to Cara who wonders, "But Jess, everybody knows you have a think for Winston. We thought we were doing you a favour!"
Between this book and the plane crash book, I think Ronnie is really annoying. Enid, what did you see in him?
I still sort of like the idea of Jessica and Bruce getting together even though I know that a) he's a jerky attempted rapist and b) he ends up with my Lila. Isn't that weird? My 12 year old self was screwed up.
Wow, early Sweet Valley was kinda awesome and random.
I noticed that in the earlier books, Jess was really downright mean, and as the series went on, while she was a schemer, she became more likeable. I read in "Sweet 18" that Francine created Liz as the good girl and Jess as the bad girl, and she was surprised that more girls who read the series liked Jess than Liz. Maybe that's why Jess changed as the series went on.
A bit like people thinking the Misfits were way more awesome than the Holograms? I'm probably just leaping to that point because I always imagine Elizabeth looking exactly like Jerrica Benton.

And here I thought I was recapping a book that hadn't been done yet! Must just be the profile page that isn't quite up-to-date. Ah well...

I loved your recap, though! And it's totally okay to have doubles, so don't worry about it.
The part of this book I found funniest was that Enid said she and George did bennies. I looked it up on wikipedia, and bennies are METH! So hard core!

I'm not too worried about writing doubles. We all notice different things anyway :-D

She made some comment that maybe she made Liz "too perfect" and I thought, "Gee, Francine, ya think?"
