SVH 132: Once Upon A Time (Chateau d' Amour Collection)

Well, a SVH recap, for a change. This is the first SVH one I've done, and as it's actually a three book arc, bear with me, 'kay!

On the back, this collection is described as, 'three riveting books in one.' I don't know if I'd go that far as to say, 'riveting,'  but, OK! Also, we have the description, 'Join Jessica and Elizabeth for a summer of ( Read more... )

sweet valley high, major continuity errors, chateau d' amour collection, sociopathic jessica, saint elizabeth of sweet valley, recapper: zippyladoodles, some people never learn, trusty boyfriend todd, strange view of europe, underage drinking, doormat syndrome

"He dreams of meeting The One at a ball, a beautiful blond haired girl with ocean blue eyes and a sweet smile."

^ That reminds me so much of Tuxedo Mask in the beginning of the Sailor Moon series, searching for his lost princess. Guess SVH is starting to rip off animes, too.

This miniseries was like, my favourite as a kid - thanks for recapping it, you're doing a great job =)

Thank you :-) Rereadinh it I wasn't sure if it's up to 1bruce1 standards but thanks thats helped a lot :-)

Sweet Valley rips off EVERYTHING!! You know that story you wrote, back when you were five, about the hamster and the cage - well SV has that, too!

... maybe there's alcohol in the air in Sweet Valley and everyone's actually drunk.

Nice recap! Your retelling of Jess and Liz's conversation amused me. I never read this miniseries, so I'll look forward to seeing what happens :D

It was much more long winded than that in the book but, honestly, when it all boils down, it's the same argument they have in EVERY book!

Thank you :-)!

In the States, "cider" usually refers to non-alcoholic apple cider. Alcoholic cider is called "hard cider." So Liz probably wasn't acting too out of character. =)

Damn! Well, still, I'd have thought even the word 'cider' should have sent Miss Perfect into a tizzy!

Yeah, alas, cider isn't as exciting here. It's basically unfiltered apple juice. It would've been way better if St. Liz had been getting sloshed.

How many royal families hire two unknown blonde teenagers from a Cali High School in America? Oh, Franciiiiiine, you never fail me with your dictated plots.

It was something to do with how Ned had worked on a case in conjunction with the family and therefore Jess, with her perfect resume, was the perfect choice.

OMG thanks so much! This is my favorite miniseries ever...well, okay, after Evil Margo, because nothing beats Evil Margo. Probably because they were the first Sweet Valley books I ever read. You're made of awesome.
