Great recap! That was my favorite book in the series when I was about the age of the twins. I did hate how Elizabeth got all upset about the rose. Why did the others not even seem to know about it? And if stupid Mrs. Wakefield doesn't want it to get broken, why doesn't she just keep it in her bedroom, or trust her kids, or something..

If bratty kids gave me bad directions and got me lost, I wouldn't leave the job early, but I'd take grim pleasure in telling their parents *everything*

Great recap...I think this is one of the most entertaining SVT books, it's got all the good stuff, pool pushes, lack of adult supervision, and tons of mischief.
Yeah, it sucked that Elizabeth was the only one who cared about the rose. I don't know, May was a bit harsh...not letting them have a cookie? She's practically Hitler!
Still, it sucks (as a kid) to have something you're looking forward to trampled on, so I can kind of see the kids reasoning. They completely went overboard, though. Dying her hair was pretty extreme, they should have just used the 'cling wrap over the toilet bowl' gag and left it at that.

I could swear there was a part where Jessica threw up at the party. Am I remembering it wrong?

-_-; A babysitter is hired by the parents to watch their kids and enforce the rules they normally have. They are not hired to make up their own rules. That babysitter is over-stepping her bounds, big-time. On another note, I just ordered this book off of Amazon today and I can't wait until it arrives.
