The actual "secret" between Ned and the Wakefield's and the conflict that results from it are really lame... which I guess is a good thing, because a dad going to these extreme lengths to keep something quiet with his pre-teen daughters... even leaving out his son in the process... is really kind of creepy.

Oh my god! I so want to read this book now.
I can't believe the kids are so jealous and stupid about ithing. As if you'd even remember that people were speaking a little made up language. I know they're only in middle school, but it's pretty lame.
And Ned's insistence on secrecy is rather strange.

That Ithig language also pops up in, of all places, the movie Slums of Beverly Hills, where I remember that Natasha Lyonne and Marisa Tomei start randomly speaking it in some bathroom. For they record, in the movie they pronounced it as "Ittig", with a silent 'h'.
