I guess Enid wasn’t invited.

OH SNAP.

It doesn’t stop her from going to the stationary store after school with the rest of the girls, though.

Reason 4278529405 why Liz, in many ways, is worse than Jessica.

Amy asks him if would get the boys into it, like Ken Matthews and Aaron Dallas, and Winston just says, “No."

There is a reason you can't spell "Winston" without "win."

Liz and Todd made out at least four times per book. I don’t think they had to pencil it into their calendars first either.

Which is why they can later play the twue wuv card.

“Daddy got it for me. From Milan. Italy’s the best,”

Io amo Milano!

Also, Keats ftw. OR LORD BYRON.

OMG, Jess reading Byron - that's the best thing ever. And she'd still think it was boring!

I totally wanted my class to do a slam book exchange when I first read this book.

Actually he’s acting like he has a tiny crush on Olivia. But maybe that’s just me.
No, I thought that too. If I were him, I'd have explained to Olivia what was going on and reschedule things with HER. I'm sure she would have understood too! Grrrrr.

Thanks for doing this recap. It was even more amazing that I recalled. :-)

"Olivia stops everyone cold, though, when she says that what Cara actually saw was that Olivia had something in her eye, so Jeffrey had her head tipped back to see if he could find it."

That was the LAMEST excuse ever. I totally thought Liv and Jeff were hooking up. Even my eleven year old mind was like, "That is the crappiest excuse ever."

Wow, that actually sounds like a mildly plausible book! How unusual for Sweet Valley!

When exactly does Todd go to/come back from Vermont? I get terribly confused over who is Liz's boyfriend when (and also, in the Elizabeth's Secret Diaries books, she dated Sam Woodruff before Jessica did! And I'm fairly sure she had a thing with Bruce Patman at one point - where did she find the time?!)

haha the Secret Diaries were great! Didn't they show that each of them had cheated with the other's boyfriend? Liz dated Ken and Jess dated Todd I think.

The Secret Diaries were indeed awesome. Completely mental, but awesome. I love the way that good girl Liz is actually in no way a good girl!

At least Todd had the distinction of being a rather dim basketball player falsely accused of attempted rape who lashes out with violence anytime he thinks someone might potentially be possibly maybe getting in the way of Elizabeth’s safety or just kind of annoying him

*dies* I LOVE THIS DESCRIPTION. Todd for the win!

Nice summing-up, too. Jeffrey's a prat and totally isn't into Liz at all.

And Lila is so a criminal mastermind.

I've always had fond feelings for Slam Book Fever, mainly because it was the first English-language novel (non-abridged) I read in its entirety when I was 13 or 14.

Your recap was awesome.
