She seems to think sweet valley has changed lives due to its after school special type messages. I love how she is totally oblivious and/or unapologetic about the weight issue. Also I almost peed in my pants when she said she approves of young girls learning about masturbation from SV. FP, you kind of rock in your absurdity.
"Oh! I’m sorry! For the overweight girls, I gave them Robin. There’s no question about it, she was very overweight. And I don’t have to tell you about it if you were a fan, you know that when she lost the weight she turned that sorority down anyway, and now she appears in the new book, it’s years later, and she’s in the catering business and she’s a few pounds overweight, but she’s happy." -- Francine Pascal
That is the most obtuse unaware comment I have ever heard and I read the entire Sweet Valley series.
That interview was so bizarrely hilarious I just stared and laughed. Even though there's like 137 kinds of inappropriateness in it wrt Robin and Regina.
God I loved it. I laughed so hard at the size 4 thing. (I actually remember being pissy about that! I work in books and had to review the updated 2008 version of Double Love - it really made me realise how implausible the story lines were when you added cell phones) Francine Pascal, you are my hero. No one liked Enid.
