Season three! Season three, you guys! We made it! Well, that's not entire truthful. I have one episode of season numero dos to go (two, if you include the clip show, which I absolutely do NOT), but I literally could not wait. After all, season three has NuLila! And NuTodd! And some guy called Shred!

Truth is, I was so excited about starting a new ( Read more... )

Sigh. I wish Winston and Elizbaeth would get together. Or maybe Winston and Jessica. Or maybe Winston and both of them. I actually interviewed Michael Perl recently and he was really, really lovely. [And has grown into a bit of a spunk]
Also, Enid is a drip. She is even drippier on this show that in the books. [At least she kept her mouth shut in those].

I actually always thought Winston was the cutest one in the show even back then. Still do, really... lol

Michael Perl was definitely a Hollywood nerd -- aka a hot guy with glasses. He gets better and better looking every season.

He did lose 10 points for being Team Elizabeth, but redeemed himself by referring often to his mum and girlfriend. :]
He also sent me some recent pics which are on the website. Total Hollywood Nerd!

Also, is it weird that I am coveting Jessica's orange spotted shorts-and-matching-halter combo? It is pretty spunky!

I never liked NuLila (but maybe your recaps will convert me?)

This Todd+Winston thing keeps getting better all the time. :D Seriously, those caps make it look like a gay cruise!

I did like NuLila, because she was a lot more like Book!Lila. OldLila was kinda over-the-top. This Lila's a bit more laid-back and sophisticated.

agreed - In the very first episode, I thought OldLila was Caroline Pearce

I thought they were going to get Winston to change the amount they owed back to the original. Ditching works equally well though, apparently. o.O (I love how quickly and easily they work off $8000, too)

Also, why is Tood allowed to handle... anything? He turns everything to fail and just brings everyone down with him. lol

Your recap was brilliantly brilliant, as it always is. (and also, win for the Zoolander reference!)

Literally nobody thought to do that at any stage.

It is a little strange that they worked off 8 large in one afternoon. I'm pretty sure unless you're some kind of high-priced lawyer or a prostitue who really knows her stuff, nobody earns that much. Except Wakefields, apparently.

Also, why is Tood allowed to handle... anything? He turns everything to fail and just brings everyone down with him.
The fact that Todd is allowed out by himself without supervision is baffling.

Forget about Liz, I feel worst for that poor man who has to drive the gay cruise. He probably thought he was going out with some regular teenagers, and ended up having to sit 11 inches away while they made out. People, look at the mash up. He is averting his eyes in all the pictures, oh so politely, oh so pained ( ... )

In most of the episodes the cast comes across as a fairly well-meaning bunch of idiots, but in this one I thought they were just awful.
Third season-itis? The writers were just like, "Fuck it."

The wonderful thing about Manny and Enid being the will-they-won't-they couple is that nobody really cares what happens to them. In most shows, that sort of couple either A) get together and people lose interest or B) never get together and people get annoyed. This way, everyone wins. Or loses, depending on your stance on Manenid.

I'm really curious how you handle Shred.
Not well, I'd wager. On top of being stupid and annoying, he's also the reason they cut Bruce, and I'll be damned if Brucie wasn't my favourite of the bunch. Stupid Reggie Patman and his stupid blonde hair.

Your recaps are always such a joy. And the Human Centipede shout out made me laugh.
