SVK #72: The Macaroni Mess

May 04, 2010 20:24

Because I never really grew up reading SVK that much, I always find these books a little weird. I mean, all my favourite Sweet Valley High characters are there, but they're...younger. It's like watching Muppet Babies, SVH style. It makes me uncomfortable to think that at one point in time, they were just innocent young children with exactly the ( Read more... )

I love Puck so much. He needs to get back with Rachel immediately, but that's just my opinion.

Sweater Grapes will never fail to make me laugh. I really love how she's got one weird eye and a tuft of hair sticking straight up. Oh, and the grapes. The grapes are pretty important, too.

Oh, a fellow Salute Your Shorts fan! The way Budnick says, "You ate your macaroni?!" is hysterical.

Charlie says that the painting of a mirror's reflection reminded him of the twins. Not because it depicted two of the same thing, but because it was of a monkey.

AHAHAHAHA. Racist!Charlie in SVH may have been vile, but between sticking up for Kisho and now this, Italian-American!Charlie in SVK is made of win.

Oh God, it's been two years now since we learned that Bruce was scared of birds, and it still hasn't stopped cracking my shit up.

Charlie's proud of himself for freaking out the girls with his snake (thankfully, that one's not a metaphor)
CANNOT. STOP. LAUGHING.

Bruce being scared of birds is the gift that keeps on giving. Just the words 'HEY BRUCE' will never not be funny.

They don't have dimples later on because (off-screen) they're replaced with doppelganger twins? that could explain how they go from macaroni messes to twin-induced hits-and-runs, secret societies and stalkers, vampires (in multiple series) and so on.

another awesome recap, I must have cracked up 20 times.

Or maybe...and I'm just thinking aloud here...maybe we're actually reading about junior Crazy Margo and junior Nora right now. They're the real Wakefield twins, and somewhere between junior high and high school, SVH!Jess and SVH!Liz stole their identities. Which would mean that Margo and Nora are the good ones just trying to regain their perfect lives, and Jess and Liz are the evil crazies. Which would explain a lot, really.

Todd has a foot fetish...read the Devon Whitelaw series where Todd is pining over Liz and wanting to kiss her ankles instead of her...chest. Creepy Todd:)
