SVH Senior Year #12: Bad Girl

Dec 09, 2009 17:50

Woot, two recaps in a row from me! I can't believe nobody has recapped the famous Senior Year book where Elizabeth...waits for it...goes bad! She goes bad, bad I say! It took me a little while, but I've found my copy and am raring to snark whatever Elizabeth's idea of 'bad' is.

I'm trying to write a fanfiction where Roger Collins refuses to buy one of Conner's CDs because if it weren't for him, Roger's perfect Liz would have been valedictorian. I'm assuming he sent Liz to the guidance counselor because he was hoping it would keep her away from Conner.
Alice gets mad at "bad" Liz for having Meghan cry on her shoulder in her room, but she doesn't get mad when "good" Liz had both Jeffrey and Todd sneak into her bedroom one night to makeout?

I don't think Alice knew of "good" Liz's bedroom hijinks... but caught "bad" Liz red-handed

This recap was, as usual, hysterical. My personal favorite line (seeing as how I am a giant "Friends" freak): Liz thinks, "Could her mother be any more defensive?" Because she's Chandler Bing.

I also laughed at this mostly because I just watched the Friends episode where Joey puts on all of Chandler's clothes and goes, "I'm Chandler! Could I BE wearing any more clothes?" Hee.

Why thank you. As you may have guessed, I'm a giant Friends freak as well, and that episode you described has to be one of my top 10 favourites. Chandler Bing should totally be president or something.

The Wakefields have had their house rebuilt now. They moved in a couple of books before this, #10 I think. IIRC, Liz moved back to the Fowlers' with the other Wakefields after Conner kicked her out.

He could've added so many more things, like 'she has some damn sexy earlobes' or 'she's not yet been crushed to death by whitegoods.'
I love you.

Liz skips an Oracle meeting to talk to Megan. I'm freaking out slightly at this. It's okay, though, because "she'd make it up to Mr. Collins soon enough." Um, ew. That is pretty much the skeeviest way she could've put that. I just...ew. I don't want to talk about this any more.
LAWL, that is wrong in sooooooooooo many ways! XD XD XD

I love that the Indian girl exists solely as the WASPs' note-passing bitch.

Oh, that's right, it's their thing -- he calls he Sandy, she calls him Danny Mac.Thaaaaaaaat's right. It was a plot device so that Elizabeth would get to Megan's house before realising that "Mac" was actually Conner ( ... )

I have only recently started reading the Senior Year books... I am up to about #22 or so... I am trying hard to ignore the inconsistencies... but the books aren't *too* bad (OMG, did I really say that?!?!).

Your snark though is far superior to all the books I have read so far.

And a final note... go the Aussie/British spelling!! I am from NZ ;)

Hee, me too! I run a website where I translate song lyrics and someone who uses the American spellings once told me that I'd spelled something wrong. XD

THIS. I loved this book more than any of the others and was also surprised no one had done it before. This recap was full of win and I'm sad it's over!
