So, this book isn't quite as funny as Jessica's Animal Instincts, by which I mean this one is woefully lacking in bird-fearing Bruce action. It does include an escaped monkey, though. So it's got that going on.

I'm trying to remember the simpsons episode where the buddy system flails and fails, but I'm also failing (& flailing).

I don't remember the name of it, but the episode was the one where Lisa got promoted to the third grade at the same time that Bart got demoted to the same class. They went on a field trip somewhere (Capital City?), and missed the bus home. The teacher asked if everyone had their buddies, and then said something to the effect of "ah, the buddy system. It's fool-proof."

I kept thinking of that episode the whole time too, =) Only I didn't know how to refer to it more concisely than I just did.

Ugh! Todd's cargo pants. Reminds me of when I worked in disability and I had to yank those pants back down so to protect my clients' dignity. Why on earth do people pull them so far up. And the only thing I hated more than the buddy system was being picked for team sports. I was always picked last...these books are bringing back bad memories.
