First, I'd like to say congratulations to our community mom, iriniaauthor who went and got married. Let's hope it's happier than any Sweet Valley marriage, eh?
For some reason, Liz convinces her to give Bruce a chance. Boy, if a guy tried to rape me I wouldn't recommend him to friends. But that's Elizabeth Wakefield for you; she's just so nice!
I always wanted to know why Bruce was never called out as bein a nasty rapist.
I dunno. It was weird because Lila's Story was entirely from her POV, I think. But Bruce's was just a little bit of him but mostly Roger and Tracy... I guess if we got in his head too much it would be too unpleasant.
Delightful all around! And good luck to iriniaauthor! May you not have secrely married your husband only to have him get shot by your brother and then you annull it or something!
Hahahaha =D I thoroughly enjoyed this review. My favorite line by far was "That's what you get, mocky". I was a big Sweet Valley reader myself (big as in, voracious, not enormously sized) and you pinpointed all the subtle, and not-so-subtle, little ridiculousnesses that make this series what it is. And what it is is shit. But it's shit made out of gold, and maybe that's why we can love it so many years after it's been out of print.
That's so not the way this book makes their family sound. Although it might be vague continuity that in #103, which I am reading now, Bruce's father's name is Henry/Hank.

And yes "Old Money" usually means more than two generations.

Edit: Someone further down who's read the legacy book said the Patman fortune was around long before Bruce's grandparents' generation anyway.

Reggie II then had Reginald III (or Shred - this was some consistency with the TV series!) and Paul is Roger's dad.
