SVH Super Edition: Jessica Takes Manhattan

Well, after whining on in the comments the other week about North London charity shops being SVH-free zones, in my local one today I picked up not one, but two SVH books. What's more, they were 20p each, which makes me think that the dude who runs the shop read them and priced them according to their literary value. So, mystery donator of Highbury ( Read more... )

Oh man, I wish the shop near me did that - they have SVU books for $6! >:(

Loved the recap! I think the SV ghosties came to Francine saying, "We've run out of ideas!" and she responded with "Do a story with a princess pretending to be poor and throw in a rock star." They, of course, didn't have the courage to tell her they'd already done that (multiple times), so here we are. :)

This was a great recap! I love this community; it's one of the only things getting me through writing my thesis.

I hate to ask, but did you happen to mean the movie SleepLESS in Seattle? If you were making a play on the title with SleepING in Seattle, that's totally awesome too. :)

Ha! I did mean Sleepless in Seattle. I fear the storyline of Sleeping in Seattle would be somewhat poor, although possibly not any worse than the Sleepless one, if you see what I mean.

Idiotic movie blunders aside, am glad you enjoyed the recap!

This is the first Sweet Valley book I ever read, about a year ago. Raised in a pious Catholic house, my parents were all freaked about how the teens were promiscuous, even though they didn't have sex or genitals. Go figure. Anyway, I wanted to read SVH so badly, and I got to a year ago. It was fall and i read it wrapped in my afghan.

Hem. Anyway, I found the whole Ryder thing totally cheesy and I thought ELIZABETH was the bitch for listening to Jess! Snort! But I did find the princess subplot sooo cute! What movie is it from, say?
