I remember when I was younger, this was one of my favourite Sweet Valley books - probably because Jess was the main character and all the Shakespeare stuff. I remember also thinking that the story was really dark - until I watched All About Eve and realised that the entire book was just a big fat plagiarised mess. I always loved this book, probably because I'm a Shakespeare fan and MacBeth is my favorite play. The recap was great!! I, too, wondered why Paula didn't just audition herself if she was supposed to be so damn talented. And of course, it's never explained WHY she made up this insane plot to steal the lead from Jess.
One thing I remember hating...during the part in the beginning where Liz helps Jess practice for the audition, Jess makes a reference about being a star and Liz responds, "Perhaps you could twinkle a little more quietly" or something like that. What sixteen year old talks like that???!! Ugh.

This was in my top 5 SVH books when I was younger. I love Macbeth and it's because of this book! I thought the scenes they described and the monologue used in this made the play sound so interesting so I was possibly the first 4th grader at my elementary school to check out Shakespeare...and actually read(and understand) it. SVH made me brainy:) I am loveing these recaps-thanks so much!

This was one of my favourites too. I thought Lila was hysterical in this, at her best. Would totally love to hear a witch say "yum yum" in the middle of a Shakespeare play and I was so glad it wasn't a three part series:)
