LOLOLOL. Thank you so much for recapping this; this set of books, and the vampire trilogy (for the life of me I can't remember what they're called) were the first Sweet Valley books I ever read and they bring the most lulz for me.
You're welcome! Speaking of ridiculous SVH books, I always enjoyed Special Christmas. That's the one where Suzanne Devlin is misdiagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but it's really just a case of mono. The doctors in the SV universe are frighteningly incompetent. I'm surprised that Elizabeth wasn't misdiagnosed with an ear infection when she slipped into a coma after her motorcycle accident.
Jesus Christ. I don't think I've ever read that one... and uh, I've had mono multiple times (limited immune system, don't have the capacity to build immunity etc etc) and can't remember it being anything like MS symptoms. Maybe someone else has had a different experience... in Suzanne's case, I'd call that experience "malpractice."
I love that Elizabeth only needs to spend approximately 2 hours away from Todd before she falls for another guy. But she really loves Todd! They're practically engaged! She would never cheat on her one true love!
The amount of Liz humiliation in this book is making me want to read it.
Amazingly, Jess never cheated on her boyfriends that I recall--she would often date multiple guys at once, but she was pretty fervently committed when she got into actual relationships.
Don't forget about A.J. Morgan. Jess cheats on him when he leaves town for three days in Two Boy Weekend. The guy she cheats with turns out to be a psycho, which is not unusual considering how many psychotic people seem to be running loose in the town of Sweet Valley. Liz nearly gets killed so that Jess won't miss being crowned queen of a ball. That one's a classic!

And yet she's the "bad" twin.
Also, Lila's advice does not work. :-(

Begs the question though, what the hell does their town paper produce? Price sheets with every other word misspelled?

And now I want to change my screen name to Emo Werewolf....
