SVT #40: Danny Means Trouble

Mar 11, 2008 13:28

In which we have Danny means Trouble, or, more aptly, Liz sticks her nose in, yet again! Plus a really stupid B plot that teaches us that exercise is pointless after all *rollseyes.* Especially if you can't get your own way all the time!

I heart these circles covers. They have such an, antiquated feel to them :-)

the token dyslexic kid reminds me how when I was in Catholic school the public schools would send all the kids that they couldn't handle anymore to us so my class was full of kids with behavioral problems and ADD. Good times.

...and then Greg takes him of in his car for ice cream. Guess his parents never told him to get into a car with a stranger. Tut!

Uh... wow! Because famous people could never do anything illegal/immoral, right? Between that, the lack of punishment for misbehavior, and the "exercise sucks" plot, this book was full of good messages for kids, wasn't it? :)

Oh yeah, totally *rolleyes!* Quite seriously, no wonder so many parents thought the books were so ridiculous and banned kids from reading them if this one's anything to go by!

When I was in 6th grade, I had a total crush on a boy named Danny, and a friend of mine gave me this book for my birthday as a (sort of) joke. I'd completely forgotten the entire plot until now.

Sweet Valley is just full of inappropriateness, isn't it?

Lol I don't think any girls are crushing on this Danny - they're too scared of his scissors. Until he shows himself as a big star of course ;-)!And, yeah, it totally is!

So SVMS has both a Danny Jackson and a Denny Jacobson? The ghost writers seriously couldn't pick a different name for Liz's cause-of-the-week?

Isn't there a Dennis in the mix too, who Grace had to eat lunch with as a Unicorn initiation?

I was totally having "Jordan Catalano can't read" flashbacks all throughout this recap. Anyone else?
