Dec 17, 2020 17:12

If I need to delete this, just let me know, but...help? lol

I am doing a rare pair trope a day challenge this month, you guys have seen a couple of the results of this already.  The rare pair bit is killing me though because I don't normally write for them.   Here's the link to the master post for this thing.  Basically, I'm looking for pairing ( Read more... )

exclaim: help!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this isn't inappropriate since we're here to help you be productive.

Check the tags - there are several years worth of random prompts on different themes. Things like Cry Me a River and Torrid Tuesday, plus numbers challenges, bingo cards, etc.

OOPS! Sorry, I totally misread your post.

I'm not much into the other fandoms, but as far as HP goes, maybe something with Professor McGonagall or Hagrid, even if it's not romantic. And with the Avengers, I love Ant-Man so I'd be all in with him in any pairing. (Okay, I just love Paul Rudd, you got me.)

Paul's adorable in general and Scott's so sweet and adorable too lol. You know, I kinda tend to forget about the teachers in HP lol, that's an idea, thanks :D

Can I maybe interest you in TW, Jackson/Isaac, for the bodyswap prompt? ^.^

If you like Isaac at all, there may be more rare pair material for you-always depending on what exactly counts as rare. A quick search on AO3 tells me there are under 100 works for Isaac/Peter and Isaac/Chris respectively. Maybe Crime AU with Chris and Quarantine with Peter?

I don't know if I'm helpful at all, lol, but if there's a chance to spark more Isaac fic, I'll try. Please forgive me :o)

I honestly have never really written Isaac, though the fics I read tend to have him as either a complete asshole or complete sweet puppy lol. Generally, I'm considering anything not in the top 10 relationship tags as rare so they all work for me if I can figure out how to write him. And I've read a few good Chris/Isaac fics so I might give that a try

Oh, actually, now that I think about it, my major TW fic i'm working on right now, I have Isaac popping up. You don't have to read the whole thing if you don't want, but if you check out the last chapter, you can let me know if that's the kind of characterization that might work :)

I tend to agree about Isaac being written as either an asshole or a puppy most of the time. Personally, I'd describe him as adorkable, sassy, but also shy and insecure (see humor as a mask), angry, traumatized, emotionally fragile, and loyal, to name only a few facets of his personality. That's me, though, and that's not to say I manage to write him anything like this, lol ( ... )

one of the problems i've had with doing all these one shots for this challenge is that it's really hard for me not to add backstory and world building but i start doing that and i have another multi-chapter thing happening lol, so i have to be creative in getting across personalities and things.

i follow a couple small fandoms, banlieu 13 and knives out and sense8 (which I totally forgot about in the list, I totally ship will/wolfgang), and there's like no fics for those, so i feel ya :) Of course now I'm wondering if I could use will/wolf for bodyswap considering it's actually kind of canon for the show that they hop bodies lol

And if I come up with something, I'll certainly tag you. are you on AO3 because I'm posting them all there too?

I've done a couple random fics for NCIS, Supernatural, and Sentinel but they're not really ones I feel comfortable with, plus it's been forever since i've watched any of them or read fics for them, so I have no feel for the characters.

I'd be all over the Giles/Xander if you wrote that. And maybe some Neville/Draco from HP or some combination of Neville/Hermione/Draco.

I actually have one of those in the collection already! It was my first time writing the pair, but I'm willing to give it another try :D

Never thought about Neville/Draco, hmmm, something to think about!

For me, Thor/Tony is a rare pairing I enjoy reading and writing about. Rhodey/Sam Wilson is another one I enjoy writing. Thor/Clint and Bruce/Clint (I shipped those two so hard from the Avengers Assemble cartoon).

Neville/Draco is one of my favourite pairings from Harry Potter as is Harry/Neville. Luna Lovegood is a fun character to write for and Harry/Luna is a sweet pairing and Draco/Luna is very interesting to write, they are so different.

i actually just read a really good bruce/clint not too long ago, i never really thought about them together but i really liked it.

i love Luna, and i've actually read several good fics that had draco/luna as a background couple and it was always so sweet, he was so different with her.

How about Xander/Fred or Xander/George if you don't mind a Buffy/HP crossover?
