I'm always making you sniffle, aren't I hon? But in a good way on the whole I hope. And you get to borrow Gene's big red spotted hankie yet again which can't be bad!

Oh I love this! So romantic in a completely Sam and Gene way. I love the cufflinks, and that Gene keeps the rose despite its refusal to flower on the right day. Their conversation about the 'rose' finding a home at Gene's place is just perfect too. I can really hear them talking.

Thank you (Rose) Petal - you've made my evening. *happy sigh*

You already know I permanently hear them talking in my brainbox - is the madness rubbing off on you?! This is the second time I've subjected Sam to Gene's rose-related flokiness and I think he secretly enjoys it. So glad to know that you did too! *hugs you hard*

*sniffle*

No, that's not just the cold talking. Seriously, that was beautifully done, and yes it's a touch fluffy but it's Sam and Gene being completely evasive about being fluffy, and that makes it perfect :)

Also, huge love for Sam's attempt at vertical snuggling, aww.

Thank you!

As soon as Zed has finished with Gene's red spotted hankie I'll make sure you get your turn, though if you've still got that cold you might need more than one blow. Which sounds far filthier than I intended it to. I'm so glad you liked this one - your good opinion always means a lot! And that you enjoyed the vertical snuggling. Don't know where that came from but I can so see Sam doing it!

Oh ♥ this was gorgeous.

Love how this is full of meaning and warmth while the characters are spot on. My fav bit is the image of Gene sitting in the armchair.

Thank you.

Thank you so much! I wrote it at work when I should have been cataloguing, but it seemed so much more important to write flokey fic than tackle a whole stack of crumbly ol' council reports that nobody in their right mind will ever want to look at. I'm sure you'd understand if you were my manager, wouldn't you? Course you would. You'd employ me just to sit in the corner and write you filth, wouldn't you?

I'm slightly worried about Gene keeping on shaking that poor rose tree and the way he's sitting there clutching at it in the armchair. My guess is it's thornless. Either that or he's got the gloves on...

*nods rapidly*

In fact we are supposed to be creating links with other libraries in different sectors so I'll have a look at the budget and see if I work out a way of employing you in just such an enrichment project.

Another one in line for Gene's hankie! Though with Sev's cold you might rather make do with Sam's packet of pocket tissues instead.
Good to know you enjoyed this one - hope it didn't make you too sniffly!
