Awwww! :D This has left me with a great sappy smile on my face, thank you!

I love the image of little Sammy curled up with Ivanhoe at the foot of his bed. My cats are never so well behaved - they'll stretch out and force me to the end more often than not. Annie's thoughtful gift is lovely too.

And it's just like big Sam to get upset over nothing - Gene hasn't forgotten, he's just waiting to reveal the surprise! There had better be lots of ice-cream and cuddles and pool-table competitiveness in Blackpool. :)

Any cat we've owned has been of the opinion that the pillow is there for them.

Thank you. I'm sure Blackpool has come up in conversation: Gene boasting about all the birds he'd pulled when he and his mates went there; Sam saying he'd enjoyed his childhood trips, with a certain wistful tone.

Adult Sam continues to be convinced that he's right until something brings him up short. It's a good job there's still someone around to deal with the inevitable tears.
