I like the bit at the end about teaching them to trade trash for food, instead of coin. Trade the downtown yellowcoats for a murder of crows! They work for peanuts! (Yeah, I know. I'll stop.)
It's also interesting to finally know the hierarchy of desires in a crow's thoughts: they like shiny bits, and they like food (who doesn't?), but now we know that they like food, or at least peanuts, more than shiny coins.
I wonder how a crow picks up a coin from pavement? It can be tricky without fingernails, mush less without fingers.
