But let's try a real reply: 100 Years of Solitude and Lolita are two of my favourite books (yay, teh smarts!). Sadly, so is Fight Club (d'oh, stoopid!).

The above-average rating of Atlas Shrugged makes me wonder, though.

I also wonder about the self-conscious process of selection. There are many people who will say something is their favorite because they want to fit what they think is the standard for where they want to belong.

There are a half-dozen or so books that I've read and liked on the chart - and most above the ones I didn't like. :)
