As an ex-SMAP fan before Arashi, I hope it won't come to pass. Iijima can leave all she wants, as she is never going to win the power struggle with Julie. Blood is always thicker than water. SMAP should stick together after 25 years! If they want more $$$, Johnny-san should do all he can to make it happen!
Lots of Japanese look at SMAP not just as a national idol group but a symbol of success, who have stuck through thick and thin over the years, and this gives the public hope. If they were to disband, it would be a really sad day indeed. Fans and non-fans alike would be shocked and shaken by the breakup.
Well... I can't say anything since this kind of thing can happen to any group. But I had a thought about it since long time ago (this basically just my opinion though). You see, I just happened to read some article one year ago about Ijima and the faction wars, and in the article (if I'm not wrong) was about Ijima said that Julie ever said to her something like, "if you want to leave, just take SMAP with you" or similar to it. And it really happening right now. I don't know the detail but what I know is Ijima to SMAP is like their foster parents and it's natural for SMAP to feel indebted after the hard works she did for them. It may not to be said bluntly in the media, but it was there, the indebted feeling towards her. Think about it, don't you think it will become more tough if Ijima leave but SMAP will become under Julie's? I mean for SMAP themselves, it is like they are abandoning the gratitude and the hard works she did for them. So, if Ijima really leave J&A, then SMAP should be disbanded too. And I think what SMAP do right now
( ... )
I actually agree with your opinion though~ to be honest, I don't mind if SMAP stays or leave, I just hope that they'll still be together (it doesn't have to be in public) but if splitting up will ruin their friendship, then I rather they don't do that. after all, I admire them for making this friendship last so long; and obviously they love & care about each other, I can't bear to see their relationship ruined.
if SMAP goes under Julie, then I think that they'll have to say goodbye to Iijima. (I heard that Julie hates SMAP) if the disband is real, then I believe Kimutaku can't contact the 4 other members anymore :/ .... (one good example is KAT-TUN, after Jin & Koki left; they can't contact them anymore because of the stupid rules lol. maybe they met in private and wasn't caught by the cameras but who knows.) but either way, I want them to choose something that will make them happy, (I strongly think that if 5 of them leave J&A, they'll be happier rather than just the 4 of them.) your english isn't bad, I can understand it completely

that's.... true.... o_o) +25years long together, the relationship they build must be already strong... and to think this event (maybe) can ruin their friendship... is rather sad. They're once a comrade after all.
I feel bad for KAT-TUN and any other groups that already disbanded. But yeah, Let's think that they meet each other in private (since Koki's younger brother still in JE too, so it's possible) XD
And yeah, I still don't get why Kimutaku still in JE... the only thing I could think is that SMAP also feel bad if all of them leave JE. It's not just Ijima alone but the Jimusho was raising SMAP too. So, yeah... maybe Kimutaku will become someone like Higashi or that HikaruGENJI guy (I forget the name) that still in JE to train the juniors :")
yeah, which sucks to hear such a trivial stuff could ruin what they've made throughout all of these years :( hehe okay, but it's more likely for Juri to meet them rather than Koki >< one thing that I don't get it is that, why Kimutaku wants to stay and not Nakai.... (I mean, I read from a lot of places that out of all of the SMAP members, Nakai is the one that is most likely to stay in J&A throughout everything.)
I really hate the idea of smap disbanding like this. Rather than the disbanding itself I wish that if it had to happen, it would've been in their own terms, rather than this media circus about whether it will happen or not. Personally even tho Im not their fan they had some stuff that I liked, so its of course sad to see them leave (will miss Goro in honkowa). Personally though, if they do leave at least they made it their own choice rather than being slowly discarded and be thrown scraps like a musical a year or stuff like that. In a way, it is kinda cooler to leave when you're still at the peak.
A few years ago when I started researching about other JE groups (than Arashi and TOKIO *cough*) I watched many SMAPxSMAP episodes and utaban and their perfs. SMAP has some of the most beautiful songs. They are a fun mix. I got to know SMAP when they were considered legends. When Arashi was behind their shadow. Oh how KimuTaku's posters got stolen so fast they could not replace it. The legendary 40% rating drama. They host Kouhaku and FNS for so many years. They are on tv everyday or something
( ... )
it's not that KimuTaku stays doesn't make sense, maybe he was attached to J&A, who knows? Nakai leaving J&A makes more no sense, I mean, out of everyone from SMAP I believe, Nakai loves the company a lot, some people even mention that even when he dies, he'll die as a Johnny's.
Actually, Johnny-san doesn't like the idea of them disbanding, to be exact, he disapproved it. Sometimes, those rumors shouldn't be trusted, I mean, I never heard of Higashiyama running for a management position. There are people even saying that Tackey should be the president of JE x'D
I don't know what will happen to their negotiations but, I just want the SMAP members to be happy with what they're doing. Junno didn't really set the date that he wants to leave; KAT-TUN will probably still continue because they still have majority of the fans supporting them (like me) and Uepi is taking on the double T with his name. It hurts me to remember that he is leaving in less than 3 months.... (I feel like crying again T_T)
