See, baseball really is the sport for smart people.

The inning I was able to listen to during lunch is now up on MLB.com! How exciting! It's amazing to watch - my heart goes out to Nippert, whose defense seems to have repeatedly failed him here.

This also means I now have video footage of Jed's epic bunt, which he somehow managed to get right over Nippert's head. It landed neatly between Nippert and ( Read more... )

That bunt was awesome! He probably did work the physics of it out in his head...after all, I'm sure he learned how to do that at Stanford! =D

What do you play Oregon Trail on? Is it online or a program that you download? It looks pretty fun (and addicting), so I think I'd like to give it a try...

He's a genius. And that bunt never fails to crack me up, either - I've watched it so many times already... (He's a funny genius, in that case.) I finally went and ordered a Stanford hat, and it should be here by Thursday - yay!

You can play Oregon Trail online or through a program, actually. When I started the Oregon Trail Live-Blogging Community (because I am a loser like that), I linked to the online version and the downloadable version on the profile page. The downloadable version requires you to also download an Apple II emulator, and it's the version I use because the online version didn't work too well for me...

You must try it. It's total crack. I have to play it almost every day now...

Hi 1863, this is ECL from the live game thread over yonder. Thanks for giving credit where it's due re: Lugo. I have a real soft spot for him (yes, I'm peculiar) and I was SO excited for him today. I'm hoping it's the start of a trend that will cause those detractors to shut up. Of course, knowing that you adore Jed, I hope he has a bright future with the team too, just hopefully not at the expense of Julio's career. Maybe, since they're both good fellows, they can play nice and share the position if there's not another spot open for Jed. :-)

Sorry to hear you won't be joining us for tomorrow night's festivities. I'll actually be trying to do house chores simultaneously so may not be as talkative as usual but hey, there's always the next night.

You were one of the people I had in mind when I wrote that bit, actually - I was really excited for you when I saw he'd gone 4-4! (I also saw Jed's bunt on the internet and cracked up, though. That part I was actually present for, except I had it on the radio. He just...entertains me.)

I'm dying missing three games in a row - I miss everyone so much! The game threads are becoming the highlights of my monotonous Pennsylvania evenings...

The only thing I thought of when I saw you lost 1046 pounds of food was that Coco's #10 and Jacoby's #46.

...CF food!

OMGZ PAULEY EATS OUTFIELDERS.

...that's a really scary thought there. (wishes she hadn't thought it) I seriously disturb myself now...
