I don't mean to sound heartless--and I know this is never the message one wants in the immediate aftermath (assuming the report's true)--but given the way he had to cool his heels in Pawtucket all this year, if you love him, this is a GOOD THING. He'll be just as blocked at every possible position in Boston next year. Would you really rather be parading around McCoy carrying the "FREE CHRIS CARTER" sign next July?

That...that's honestly very true. The Mets are going to have a bunch of openings for him next year, too, so he'll probably get some playing time, at least. And at least he went to a team I can watch, too...
