Also, my friend, who so badly wanted to hate Tebow, just can't find it in her heart to do so. He's just too genuine she says.

It is! I almost wonder if it was written by the author of that notorious Cloby article that had that "the beds grew softer as the men grew harder" line...

He does actually seem like a really nice guy! I love that he spent his Spring Break in the Philippines at his father's orphanage...that's a really cool-sounding experience.

I hate the Florida Gators intensely (my asshat of a cousin went there), but this article made me LOLOL so much. I can't get over "corn-fed handsomeness."

Me neither! It's just...that is one of the absolute WORST descriptors I have ever read. It blows my mind completely.

It's either purple prose or a mancrush gone deeper (aka "unintentional homoeroticism")...or it's both.

Someone on the Sports Bubbler boards had waaaay too much fun making fun of this article for the same reason.

As for "corn-fed handsomeness"--haha, very purple way of describing the "white farm boy" look.

I can totally see the unintentional homoeroticism. It was the first thing that crossed my mind when I read the physical descriptions of Tebow in there...

...oh, God, poor McClung! At least that's not as purple as this one...

I can't get over that line. I just can't. It's just...bad.

The only reason that article wasn't more purple is because Anthony Witrado is not exactly the best writer out there.
(someone on my flist used to joke that Jacoby Ellsbury stole her gay. I think McClung has the ability to steal gay and het at the same time. ^^;;;)

I wish FJM was still in operation, as I think they'd have a field day on that Tebow article. It's also beyond the scope of Baseball Think Factory. ;)

That...would totally do it. And thank God for that. (That is an extremely impressive ability. He's TALENTED! He has the lure of the animal, I suppose.)
