It's games like this that make me wonder why more people don't watch college baseball.

Yeah, Fresno State, if you'd love to keep writing the plot for Slumberwood for me, that'd be great.

When I originally mapped out Slumberwood's plot, I imagined that they'd reach the CWS (after winning their school's conference for the first time in half a century), battle their way to the finals (I am even contemplating sending them through the ( Read more... )

That just goes to show you that Okajima is an anime geek. :) I wonder how he'd react if you mentioned that anime out loud or something....I wonder if he watches animes with the bullpen guys or tries to get them to watch with him. I think he probably got Javier Lopez into the more darker themed ones.

I can seriously see that too. And I'm sure he'd find something good for Papelbon, too. (Actually, I can see Papelbon getting so into it that he'd do cosplay in the bullpen.) And if he wanted something for the entire pen, there is One Piece, which is entirely about pirates...

FRESNO :D I didn't watch any of the game (I decided I wanted to score the Sox instead... how bad of an idea did THAT turn out to be. Don and Remy had gazillions of visitors in the booth for "Remy Day" and barely commented on the game at all--much less even showed it), but YAY. I am so watching today, especially since it's old-timers day at Fenway (Shakey Wakey vs Big Unit? eugh).

Also, Chris Smith was freakin' awesome. And Justin's description of him ("Smith was beautiful. He was disgusting. He was slicin' and dicin'") was even better.

It was just a total slugfest. But it ended the right way and set up tonight, so it was all worth it! (Ooh, they did? I heard Pudge Fisk caught the first pitch, though - was he there? I would've definitely preferred more of the game, too, but I wouldn't have minded listening to Pudge for a bit...) I flipped back and forth today, and Pap finished at the right moment, so I got to see the ends of both games!

...I love Justin. So much. He's just so good with words. And Chris Smith getting the win made my day! I was so happy for him!

Pudge was there! Well, on the pre-game show. He didn't make it up to the booth, but he chatted with Eck and Remy before the game.

YES. He was absolutely adorable. And the NESN guys were totally fanboying him--"He's so laid-back! He doesn't care that he lost, he's happy he went out and pitched well! He's like a veteran in a rookie's skin!"

He was? Ooh, yay! Now I wish I got NESN for about the fifteen millionth time...he's my favorite all-time Sox player.

...I love that. All of it. I'm so glad he's getting all this time in the rotation, too! He's looked strong for the most part...he deserves it.

Agh, I wish I'd known he was going to be there! I would've tried to get tickets to go to BP to see him!

...I'm definitely getting Cyclones tickets this summer, then. I have to see him in person.
