DSRL! DSRL! DSRL! DSRL! (...and perhaps the DL, too. Uh-oh.)

I totally had a prophetic vision last night. Okay, so maybe it wasn't truly prophetic, but it spoke to me.

I was listening to that cheesy 'DSRL' song that Nabisco is using to advertise Oreos (along with commercial king Peyton Manning and his kid brother and Super Bowl Champion Eli) for some reason and was hit by an equally cheesy idea - it involved Jed Lowrie and Justin Masterson singing it 1980s-style and forcing Clay Buchholz to play the lead guitar part for them. I've decided to draw it comic-style, so it's still in the works, but I've got one or two panels done. It was just so disturbing that I had to record it for posterity.

That bizarre stuff aside, we turn to some more serious news. Apparently Schill's shoulder is in bad shape. This really isn't looking too good right now - there is talk of voiding his contract and such, and he might need surgery (which would probably sideline him for the season). On the other hand, this could be opportunity knocking on Clay Buchholz's door, but...I'm really not sure how I feel about this. It'll definitely be Schill's last season, and he wants to spend it here - but on the other hand, I'd love to see Clay get a chance to start in the majors again, and...it's a tough call. I'm so confused and conflicted.

Maybe I should just get back to focusing on the 'DSRL' parody. This is making me too nervous.

EDIT: SoxProspects.com has updated its projected 2008 rosters. Schill isn't listed on the big club's roster anymore - it's a five-man rotation. Josh Beckett is the staff ace, followed by Matsuzaka, Wakefield, Lester and Buchholz. Schill is listed at the bottom of the page in the 'Inactive Players and XST' section.

Clay, the future is now. Are you ready? Prepare...to LICK! Er, pitch. Whatever.
