Hob Gadling! Squee!

I love the Agincourt line --

and I’faith, she is a marvel. . . . "marvel" being such a great Shakespearean word. Excellent.

I've been dying to write this story for ages. Hob wins at so much. (Quite literally at life, I think!)

Mmguh, Shakespeare. He is one of my Trio of Eternal Dead White Boyfriends. (The others being Homer and James Joyce.)

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Yes!

Behold my musings on the use of 'marvel' in Shakespeare.

And I have a theory written out somewhere re: Scott/Jean/Emma and "The Dead" --

Thank you! And I adore your icon, to be, er, slightly distracted by the shiny.

There is no part of this story I do not love. Fantastic use of Betsy, Hob, and the Blob himself.

Thank you.

You really know how to make a girl with a word processor happy.

Thank you so much for the note. I'm glad it pleased. :)

Oh! Oh my god this story was so fantastic! I loved the Lock and Key, loyal servant of the crown, and poor Fred the Duke's Man, and kitchenmaid Husk (little page!) who sees all but cannot understand it. Corva (great name!) was terrifying, as she should be, and so at home in the complicated swirl of politics, drink and death. And Elizabeth speaks often of far Cathay, and wears a fine turban - a queer girl indeed!

The format was wonderful, and the language simply amazing, especially in the "play" sections.

Using Hob Gadling was a wonderful conceit, and I was so delighted to see Elizabeth and Hob share their secrets with each other at the end.

I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to receive this story.

This was brilliant - I loved it! It carried me along at a rollicking pace, and it was smart and funny. Hob! Cain! Fred! Paige! Lock and Key! And a happy ending! Brilliant!

Thank you! It was really fun to write. And I have such a strange weakness for Freddy Dukes, he had to show up. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
