it all seems to have come together over the past few days: daffodils, violets, pieris japonica, weeping cherry, virginia bluebells, lungwort, bleeding heart and vinca minor.
it would be hard to choose a favourite were it not that my heart is given to the bluebells, whose prominence in the image tag cloud is no coincidence.

it's difficult to admit, but I don't really care for yellows; a deep lemon yellow might have its place in a sunny morning kitchen but for me it's a colour I associate with migraines.
the deshinglement revealed the historic yellow to which I decided to return; the green trim (also historic) and blue porch ceiling (my own addition) made it easier to take but it's the daffodils that really bring redemption.

I actually love yellow, especially that historic yellow, but I can see how other people hate it. I did see an awful yellow brocade on some sofas this weekend, and winced.
