Um, I would just like to point out that even biological sex isn't necessarily simple. 1 in 500 males have Klinefelter's syndrome (chromosome structure: XXY), 1 in 1000 have XYY syndrome. 1 in 1000 girls have triple X syndrome, and 1 in 2500 have Turner syndrome (chromosome structure: single X). The intersexuality page at Wikipedia is a good place to start if you want more information.
Absolutely agreed. I actually started writing a lot of stuff about intersex issues, but I remembered that a lot of the intersex community do not want to be tied into the transgendered/transsexual community and issues and, out of respect for that, tried not to make people too confused about where these issues tie in together and where they don't.
