Just wow. everyday i get more and more amazed at the stupidity of people. So last week my computer died. i called dell fixed it it was all okay until yesterday. the same error comes up so i call dell. we run diagnostics and it failed, they said my hard drive was faulty. well im here, after a being on the phone from 2pm yesterday till 5 then from ( Read more... )

Just for reference, Dell (usually) makes good computers. Even the most expensive, best built computers will have faulty parts every now and then. It's the tech support that needs to be lined up and shot. And believe me, that goes for all tech support these days. Once, I had to explain to tech support at Verizon how a home network functions!

Me: "No, the outside phone line goes to the jack. The jack goes to the modem. The modem goes to the router. The router goes to the hub. The hub then goes to the computers. What the Hell were you talking about?"

Wow just wow.
WE had comcast come to install the cable modem, he asked my mother if we had a firewall, she walked over to the wall and replied "yeah its cinderblock in the basement, good and strong against fires, but what does that have to do with computers?" i laughed. although i have to say ive heard dell is the best, bet everyone i talked to has had the problems with tech support and customer service, shooting them sounds like a good idea, or maybe i could beat them with the metal pole i keep in the trunk of my car>:)
at least comptuer is working for now:)
