As unfortunate a situation that may be, that doesn't mean you still can't partake in the spreading of love~! A friend, a family member, even a co-worker-there are such things as "friendship" Valentine's that work just as well!

Giving a simple card, candy, or even a lunch or a day of hanging out~ Any of those would work just fine~!
