I thought that this was a pretty good read. I didn't like the dysfunctional parents parts at the beginning. It was too Dahl-esque (I don't like Dahl lol), imo. I did, however, love the monsters part! I <3 Carol! :D

I understood the need to add the dysfunctional parents, as it's why Max feels unloved, but it did drag on a bit longer than I would have liked. The monsters totally rocked!
