[Really, by now, Kanda should have seen it coming. He knew she was late very single morning, and knew full well that she wouldn't look where she was running.]

[But here he was, walking to go chill with Luna for a bit before his shift-- and nearly falling backwards with the force of a 14 year old girl crashing into him, headfirst.]

[ And just like that, she's propelled backwards, landing flat on her ass with a very loud thud. ]

[He blinks once, twice, before realizing it's Usagi.]

[He does offer her a hand up, though. Because. It's Usagi.]

[Kanda had to admit, this job was kind of dull without a particular dango-head to pick on during the day. But whatever, work was work.]

[And there were more drooling women and gays to take care of anyway. He'd have thought that the novelty would have worn off by now... Guess not.]

[ And as if luck would have it, Usagi walks into the store with Naru at her side, both of them with bright smiles on her face. She hasn't noticed that the guy she had literally almost plowed through this morning works here as she's listening to what her friend has to say! ]

-nd I can't believe that he was about to play his flute for you, Usagi! Man, you are so lucky!

I know right! But his sister! She acted like a jealous girlfriend or something!

[ When Naru and Usagi turn at the voice, only Naru is the only one who isn't immediately affected by the greeting. ]

[ The moon rabbit's face is red around the cheeks while she tries not to flail. But, when Naru hears that Usagi had run into her.. she knows exactly what that means and sighs. ]

You didn't watch where you were going again, did you?

LATER THAT DAY... NIGHT. WHATEVER.

[Immediately after his shift, Kanda headed straight for the Tsukino household to meet up with the cats, so he could get the patrol plan from them. It was already dark, unsurpringly, and he moved through the streets like a shadow.]

[ Through the open window on the second floor is the sound of Usagi laughing excitedly. She's obviously on the phone enjoying a conversation with someone, but while she's busy the black cat that had been laying comfortably on her mattress slips through the open window, hoping down effortlessly until she reaches the ground. ]

They should be here soon.

[ And so she waits outside the gate of the house, patient as ever. ]

[Kanda showed up about five minutes later, tops, and casually leaned against the wall next to Luna.]
