Dean opened the computer to do some research. Everyone always thought Sam was the research guy, but Dean knew how to use Google pretty well too, dammit.
He typed "strange unexplained phenomenon" into Google News, since that was a good way to see about new cases.
The resulting screen was black.
"What the hell?" Dean asked, wondering if perhaps Google had been hacked.
Then some words appeared on the screen, in white.
Dean stood on a hill, baffled. The sky was a deep azure, almost as blue and pure as the color of Castiel's aquamarine cerulean eyes. It was like the ocean. Dean wished he was not alone, that he could share this beauty with someone else that he loved. Like perhaps Castiel.
Dean drew his eyebrows together in confusion. He wasn't alone. Sam was taking a nap like, four feet away.
The words disappeared. And new ones appeared in their place.
"Why must you always be so literal, Dean?" Sam shouted. His hair blew in the breeze, his dual colored orbs glinting evilly.
Dean hit the restart button. Nothing happened. Except the words disappeared and new ones once again appeared on the screen.
"I am everywhere, Dean," Castiel told him gravely. His anime-blue eyes glistened with unshed tears. "Whenever you need me, I am there. I am in the air, and the water. I am in the fire, Dean. I am in the electricity that powers your computer."
"You're in my computer?" Dean asked. He didn't want Castiel in his computer. He had porn in there, for god's sake!
Castiel looked gravely at the taller man. Dean's mossy eyes shone with longing. "Why won't you come back to me?" Dean asked. "WHY, CAS, WHY?"
"I have come back to you, Dean," Castiel said softly. "I am here. And I don't care about the porn on your computer. Your heart will always be pure, it is why you are so dear to me. Unlike your abomination of a brother."
"Hey, don't talk shit about my brother!" Dean said, annoyed.
"Dean, I am limited by my form!" the angel shouted, frustrated. "Even in human form, I could not communicate adequately, and now..." A single jewel-like tear rolled down his beautiful face. Dean reached forward and kissed it from Castiel's ivory cheek.
"I feel like this is going to put a real crimp in our relationship, Cas," Dean grumbled.
The angel sighed sadly, and nodded. "One day, Dean," he said, a note of longing piercing his voice. "One day I pray to my Father that we will be together. Until that day, I hope you will keep me in your heart."
"I will," Dean said, his voice shaking. "I will always love you, Cas. I will take care of the egg, I promise, and see our fledglings hatch safely."
Castiel breathed a sigh of relief.
"What the fuck are fledglings?," Dean asked. He shut the computer. Sam could research later.
