I was talking to some non-voting people, to whom I'd linked or described this story, and we were all thinking, who wrote this, who wrote this?

It's fantastic; Amelia and Claire are such an integral part of the SPN canon, however brief their stay, and I think it's because of the depth and power of the fic that has been written for them, bleeding back into people's perceptions of the characters and coloring them more fully. This story certainly upholds all of these qualities and then some. Great job!

Thank you so much! I think of all of the people who have been brushed aside by the greater powers in SPN, I feel the most for Amelia and Claire, who have really lost so much, and ffff it's like Sam and Dean and Cas barely even care, they're so consumed with their own problems.

I can see this. Amelia not wanting to even think about what happened, never mind talking about it. And when she does, to a church person no less, she's seen as a nutcase.

And Claire. When she finally begins to talk again, the things she talks about, the dreams she has.

And the end. God, poor Amelia.

Thank you so much! I don't think about the Novaks that much either, but I looooooove writing about the effects canon has on the poor steamrolled minor characters.

I also thought this fic fantastic :-) Definitely horror genre, would be perfect posted at sharper_things. I thought this had a mature depth, a terrific concept, and a real sensitivity for the characters. Skillfully written, efficient and subtle, but fleshed out enough to carry the reader through to it's open conclusion. I really enjoyed reading it :-)

Heartbreaking. I love it. There's this perfect pitch to hit with Novak fic that just expresses all the horror of being collateral damage, and your Amelia pov is perfect at that.
