I love how likely this scenario is. Kat's certainly a girl who can take care of herself, but like Jo said, everyone's got to start somewhere. I really like how understanding Jo was about that--I feel like being in a similar situation not too long ago would give her empathy, so that was pretty realistically written despite how much of a hardass Jo is normally.

Kat fought a ghost today and she is brave and can do anything and she leans across the inches and kisses Jo.

This is different from all of those, Kat thinks as she pulls away for a quick breath. She doesn’t think it’s because of Jo, though. It’s not because Jo’s a girl. She’s pretty sure of it. It’s because of herself. The difference is that Kat is different.

^ My favorite bit of this fic. Newbie hunters kind of fascinate me, and this fic was very enjoyable on that angle. Hunting totally changes a person! (Oh, Gavin, you struck out on this one.)

Anyway, I am rambling. I really enjoy this fic :D I hope you write more like it someday!

I had a "not enough gay sexxing" icon ready for use, but then the extra part at the end appeased me. So now...yeah, a camel.

Like I said earlier - I think you really got Jo's voice. The story was fun, interesting, and plausible. (The last one is not always easy to do with Supernatural femslash, alas.)

Kat is one of my favorite characters ever on this show, so I loved seeing her fumbling attempts at hunting, and then kick-ass, already jaded (who is kind of poignant here) Jo coming to help her out. (Minor detail: They wouldn't have rifles; they'd be shotguns because you can't load salt into a rifle, or saw it off.) I think this seems completely realistic for these two awesome young women. Really enjoyable; thanks.

Thank you so much and ARGHHHH re: detail! I know NOTHING about guns or...shooty things...so I asked my twitter feed (clearly the best resource for research) for their opinions before I wrote that. Note to self: do actual research before writing about weapons next time! :D

Hee, no worries! It just so happens that my dad was a gunsmith by trade, and I have three sons who shoot competitively, and my husband coaches the team. Probably no one else even noticed, especially since the story is otherwise lovely, especially the characterization, which is pitch perfect. :D

omg that would be SO AWESOME. Maybe they go around for awhile and it's hard because Kat is in school, and then they have much more graphic sex and then they break up or something because obviously Jo has to go be with her mom.
